If this was a straight up Van Horm For Tim Thomas I would agree with both Playa and Bobby... but the fact is.. We got Nazr... and that was the true strength of this trade... This was a good move..

We save some money and get a great athelete for Marbury to play with. This will turn out to be a great trade.

isn't Tim Thomas a great playoff performer?!

I was getting sick of Van Horn disappearing in games, especially during the the quarter where it matters most. I seriously think Tim will bust out in with this Knicks team!

Tim Thomas is one of the worst rebounders for 6'10 guy I've ever seen. He's never averaged more than 5 boards per game. He's got to pick that up.

but KVH has averaged a lot more minutes during his career. If Tim got his kind of minutes he would average 7-8rebs a game. And he's because improving each year.

Mutombo is one of the few guys on our team who plays defense so stop knocking him. Both him and Nazr will get 24min a game. I think it's better that Deke Starts because we need his D in the starting lineup. Bottomline is it will come down to who is more effective with what unit.

Do you guys think of Thomas as a low post threat? I mean not like a Wallace, but will he do for us right now? And tell me about Mohhamad guy.

Isiah is showing us what he meant by improving the team in unconventional ways. You have to take chances on players with baggage and potential. Tim Thomas will finally live up to potential with this particular Knicks team! Layden's problem was wanting to hit a home run with a trade which is why he never got anything accomplished.

He may not be a low post threat yet but he can score around the basket. Once people forced Van Horn to drive he would loss the ball most of the time.

I like Nazr. He and Deke will make a formidable C rotation.

Tim Thomas is athletic he is a SF and is a better defender than KVH. KVH is more polished offensively though. If Houston is OK, then Thomas will give uNY some more low post and slashing plays and open it up for Houston more.

NY got young relatively cheap talent! The money favors NY long term.

Overall its probably a wash.

Someone else mentioned this too. All of Layden's guys are gone except for Shandon and he may still go to Toronto! Also NY had 3 white guys and now they have none. Does IT have something against white guys?

KVH played well for NY. NOt great but well. Basically we got TT for Spree. I'd still rather have Spree but at least TT is young!

KT and TT on the front line!

mutumbo SUX bottom line. washed up, open your eyes. didnt u see him get dunked in his grill vs the hornets? he used to be a good shot blocker with no offense to speak of. now his offense is EVEN worse and his legs creak everytime he moves.

why else do you think IT went after mohammed?he recognizes a gaping whole down low.

2 more things.

TT is a metro are guy. IT seems to be trying to get that kind of player to "come home".

I think Baker is still an option here.

NY will be much better defensively. KVH cannot gurard a statue.

If you think Mutombo SUX then you are going to have some serious problems trying to find a Center for your team buddy. You are not only over-exagerating the tapering of his talent you are also underestamting his value to the Knicks.

Try and remember how many times Mutombo's defense helped us win games. I can think of atleast 4 times. That's a big deal.

yup.

Mutombo isnt needed for his offense on the knicks so just forget about that right now Mase. Mutombo's averagin bout 2 blocks per game...which to me,it seems like it should b more with all the games ive seen him get 3-5. Even when mutombo doesnt block a shot, he's the best intimidator we have on this team.
Maybe he should come off the bench, but thats a different topic.

$50 mil over the Cap and you still expect Zeke to take chances with players with baggage....while you at it, tell me where I can find that money tree
