yeah, just an "extension" of the trade. i can buy that.

Had enough Melo?

Now that Billups is locked in, maybe Knicks can trade him to Denver for Felton and Chandler. #kidding #butonlyalittle

Billups for Felton and Chandler would be AMAZING.

Billups for Felton and Mozgov would be a better fit.

We have no center

Billups for Felton, Gallo, and Mozgov would be best

Donnie Walsh needs to scour the earth for one thing and ONE thing only. A legit center.

Two centers would be even better but just one center would fill the huge donut hole left by Mozgov.

The bench can be filled by the best summer leaguers left standing after Las Vegas

DeAndre Jordan is the kid i'd like to throw money at. I don't believe the Clips will want to spend a ton on the kid, but I think he's a player that has sick upside. 6-11 265 and athletic as heck. Rebounds and Blocks shots and is only 22 and still learning. How they didn't already lock him up is beyond me. I'd take a shot at him.

Other good vets are Jason Collins, who really defends Howard well, Jeff Foster and Kurt Thomas. Both Foster and Thomas are rugged and smart defenders. Old guys like them off the bench are very useful and cheap.

GUess I can't complain too much about this. It would have been exciting to see if we had real cap space and what we could get, but we could have ended up with none and no starting PG next season.

Choosing between Chauncey and a POSSIBLE $8M in cap space pretty much is a no-brainer. Now we just need to hire the guy who keeps Steve Nash and Grant Hill healthy all season.

I like Shelden and would bring him back considering he will cost peanuts.

Guys we can possibly get the for veterans minimum and should go after:

Reggie Evans
Chuck Hayes
Kenyon Martin
Leon Powe
Chris Wilcox
Jeff Foster
Kurt Thomas
Etan Thomas
Theo Ratliff

These guys will probably get the MLE but I would go after them anyway:

Samuel Dalembert, Kris Humphries

I don't think you get KMart for the vets min. Or Reggie Evans or Etan Thomas for that matter.

Knicks should take a shot at Greg Oden or Yao Ming for one of those two center slots. Something like Dalembert and then Oden for the minimum to back him up would solve the Center problems, then they can sign a backup point guard.

not sure what the update is with Yao but I read an article a couple of weeks ago where Oden said he won't start running for like 5 months from now.

Man I want no part of Oden or Yao. As great as their talent and size is, their a career ending injury waiting to happen. I'd rather go hard after DeAndre Jordan. I don't think the Clips will overpay for him. In fact they let this kid get to be an unrestricted FA! What's that about? If i'm him I sign with the Knicks and leave that broken organization in the dust. They'll find a way to mess up having Griffin, cuz they always do. He can come to NY and start and play with a team that has 2 Superstars and is much closer to winning.

Reggie Evans would be a nice addition as would Dalembert...sign me up with that. Dalembert would be a starter here, and be on a playoff team, but with no cap space, he'd have to accept less money to play here and compete for a championship....as much as most players say they wanna compete for a championship...in the end, it's hard to turn down the money.

People turn their nose up at Dalembert, but he'd be an upgrade over anything we've had here in a while. His overall skills aren't bad. He can actually hit a jumper now, makes FT's, I think he has decent enough hands and his defense is his strong suit. He's not the quickest guy but he seems athletic enough. I'm not sure exactly what the issue is as to why he hasn't really done better, but I think he'd be a good pick up. There's no one in front of him here so we can promise him a starting job and more minutes than he got in Sac.

Dalembert is staying. He finished strong and they like him next to Cousins.
LAL will match any offer for Jordan. They love him next to Griffin for the next decade

The only FA that makes sense for us Reggie Evans.

Gasol is more than a MLE and Memphis wil want something back in a sign and trade. What would we offer?

I tell you what, I never liked Dalembert as a long term solution but could live with him on a 1 year contract at MLE money if that's what it would take.

If Sam's agent were smart he would look into this type of deal. Is he going to grab a long term contract with Sacramento? If so, and if he is all about the money, I would prob stay: nice young team, low expectations, nice weather, etc.

But if he can't get a contract at the numbers he likes, a 1-year shot next to Amare and Melo and some easy buckets in the MDA system would pump up his value like no other and may garner him a deal in the next offseason that could last the rest of his career.

Literally all he would have to do is not foul out, set some hard picks, rebound, and may layups/dunks.

DeAndre is very popular with the Clippers organization and they will spend money on him.

Marc Gasol is gonna come here after STAT called his brother soft?

People like to talk about the Knicks like it's a video game and you just trade players. But you have to think of friendships, who wants to play here, who wants to play with who. I dont see anyone on that list of free agents who fits our needs. Period. Draft the best player available at our draft pick and try to package him and Turiaf for something.

I think what else makes him a nice fit here is he doesn't need the ball in his hands....and his defense and rebounding could really be a catalyst for the MDA system....a one year deal, pump up his value...sign me up for that with a side order of Reggie Evans off the bench :)

The Knicks don't have the cap space to make a huge signing because they're going to keep themselves in the sweepstakes for CP3/Deron Williams/Dwight Howard. I like DeAndre Jordan as much as the next guy, but if he goes to UFA, somebody with cap space will get him because they can pay more. Players like Jordan who haven't made any money yet will go for the money.
