Fact is, when Garnett has been healthy and has played for Boston in playoffs (total of 2 times), they have won a title and been one game away from winning another one.

You can say what you want about them, but they are still the team to beat in the East. Can they be beat? Of course they can. But I don't see how we can take a positive view after last night's game when we really controlled the game for over 47 minutes and still found a way to lose it.

Man people are fooled by this Celtic's team right now. They aren't the C's of 2008 anymore! I'm tellin you they can't go hard for 48 anymore. They keep pacing themselves to make a hard push late in the game. We didn't really play a great offensive game and we're more than capable of doing that. If you think they can contain Melo for the rest of this series you guys are crazy!!! Melo is gonna break loose and when we have STAT and Melo going the C's won't be able to match us. Who do the C's have that can deal with STAT?

The C's caught a break with Melo getting 2 early fouls. I think they also got lucky with Jermaine cuz I don't believe he's going to be able to duplicate his good game the entire series. The Knicks can actually go harder than they did last night, but I don't think the C's can play much harder cuz I don't think KG and Pierce and Allen have the stamina to push harder. With CB hurt I think we'll see the Knicks push the pace more with TD and AC and that will work in our favor. The last game was played at a pace the C's are more comfortable playing.

We keep playing back off of Rondo and do a better job on Allen and we win this series!!!

They won it all in 2008

They got to the semis with no Garnett pushed to a game 7 in 2009 against Orlando

They got to the Finals in 2010 pushed to a game 7 with Perkins missing a couple games

They've added depth to their core in 2011(O'Neal x 2/Green/West/Kristic)

I hope so. Nothing would make be happier than seeing the Knicks win the next 4 and take this series (I'd be thrilled to be wrong).

However, that was a huge, huge game to lose in my opinion. We had a golden opportunity to set the tone for the series and to give ourselves a shot at winning this thing. Now, it becomes a lot tougher because game 2 is essentially a must win for us.

Actually from what I saw of game 1, the Celtics do look noticeably older and slower, and they are vulnerable. But it won't be the Knicks putting them away unfortunately, we have too many holes. But I don't think the Celtics will get past the 2nd round this year.
Rose is not the answer.

Is that the best you've got? We can beat the C's! The only thing they have over the Knicks is experience. The Knicks have to execute better and play smarter. Also I think we need to push the pace more. Not play out of control, but put more pressure on the C's to play at our pace.

Rondo is still the key for the C's. He creates so much of what they do. If we can continue to keep him out of the paint and force them to earn most of their points we can beat them. The only thing that bugged me was the number of rebounds we let them get. Many of them were long but still we've got to keep them off the boards.

They didn't get our best sunday punch yet. Our best is when STAT and MELO are clicking and we get TD involved. The Knicks can and will play better. If Melo hits just a few more of his shots we win this game easy. I fully expect him to focus from here on out.

Sorry if your tired of hearing about the Celtics being champs, etc etc

what you see is what you get. You can talk pre-trade Knicks vs. Melo-Knicks all you want but it doesnt matter. Celtics have been to two finals in 3 years and won a title, and are defending East champs. Knicks are now 0-5 vs the Celtics this year and the script remains the same. They are better because they can finish and we cant. The standings dont reflect how good you play in the first 3 qtrs, only wins and losses.

When you get used to seeing the same thing over and over it becomes the norm and the expectation.

Man I wanted that win last night so bad, but when the game was over was anyone suprised? I wasnt. I went from jumping around shouting to the sitting there dejected. My lady asked what happened. I simply said "Celtics are better... this is what they do."

That was a different team they may have some players that are the same but they are collectively different unit. They no longer have the same coaching with Thibs gone they are a different defensive team. You must take all that has changed into consideration. What they accomplished is the past it isn't what it it is today. They may resemble the teams of the past but make no mistake they are not that team.

Cool story, but they are the 3rd seed with a great defense. To say they are done and wont win another game after they came up in their usual clutch way and are leading the series 1-0is a joke. You can say what you want but they stole the game from us and they did so because they were smarter and more disciplined at the end. It doesn't hurt when you have 3 clutch players like Allen, Pierce and Garnett on your team either. Their defense is the same it has always been. Our team is not as good as their team. This is why it was imperative we won that game last night. This next game will be the test of our fortitude.

The next game will be a dose of reality for the C's. They're gonna see that the Knicks are not only not folding, but raising their play another level. It was no accident that we kept getting leads on them. We will have learned from that game. We got to see their schemes and feel their physical force. This isn't a one and done NCAA game, we'll have a chance to adjust to what they did and next time we can push them harder. I don't believe the C's can play a full 48 of high level D for an entire series. In fact I think they'll still be recovering from last game on Tuesday. Pierce and KG along with Allen have to show me they can keep up with the Knicks the entire series. I'm betting they can't.

They won 87-85 we shot mediocre from the floor and from 3pt range/got out rebounded/they made clutch plays and executed when it mattered most...I bet if you look at how they've won games in post-season since 2007-2008 much of this formula holds true but..... go on wicha bad self
