Knicks won.

which makes PMS right :) the greatest feeling in the WORLD hehehe

Melo HAS to make those shots. We had guys who can fill out the stat sheet. What we traded 4 starters for was a guy who wins games. Big shot for Melo. He needed that. Good stuff

4 starters??? Don't let the facts get in the way of your arguement. It really was 2 starters for 2 starters. Chandler was coming off our bench and Mosgov started like 5 games after the season first 5 games. How many DNPs did he have. I liked those guys but be real. Also Billups was part of the trade BTW.

ok... how about 4 ROTATION players a pick and a prospect for 2 starters one 34 years old. Add up the minutes and its close to 2:1

starer finisher.. doesnt really matter. One guy was back in the starting line up and having an impact while another guy was playing 35+ minutes off the bench.

And what was my arguement? There wasnt one... only a point, that we had guys who could fill out the stat sheet and did. What we traded for a finisher and like Clyde said on TV last night "time for the stars to earn their pay." Melo did... thats WHY we traded half the rotation for him (and a guy who's might be here another year)

yeah. it really came down for me to how far did i think that team had the potential to go? my answer was it was a slightly better than .500 team. i didn’t want to wait around 3 years to see if i was right.

that squad has a lot of size and depth and growth... doesnt matter now. Im curious to see how our stars stack up against the rest of the east. So long as the other guys rebound and defend we could have a nasty squad to deal with

i agree. but i was concerned with:

gallo and chandler really both being sf's

gallo's outside shot fading fast

gallo regularly taking halves off.

chandler's period every season where he forgets how to play basketball

felton's struggles running the halfcourt offense

moz' learning curve

ar’s never finding a niche here.

he's 1 of the best closers in the NBA but you'll never hear the detractors give much more than a cursory mention of that major aspect of his game... they'd rather compare him to undisciplined chuckers like Gilbert Arenas & pat themselves on the back like they just said something intelligent.

It's hard for people who think Gallinari has star potential to praise what Carmelo Anthony already is, a proven star player.

Disagree. I am a big Gallinari supporter. He could not have done what 'Melo did last night.

The Knicks gave up a ton of depth to get Melo. I am not happy about that. I am happy that they are beating good and very good teams since the trade and that Melo is scoring 25 points per game. There is no question 'Melo has more skills than anyone they gave up, that was never the question. The question simply was to hang on to one of them. Looking back, I think the guy to hang on to may have been Mozgov and not Gallo.

There is not much playing time at the 3 position right now.

Check out these articles:

http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/24200/the-truth-about-kobe-bryant-in-crunch-time
http://www.nba.com/2011/news/features/john_schuhmann/01/27/hornets-chris-paul-clutch/index.html

Two most clutch players in the NBA statistically, and not by reputation (ie. Kobe) is in fact, Carmelo and Chris Paul. And there's a chance we could be pairing those two by 2012, with the league's best off-the-ball PF.

Carmelo: has made 21 of 44 attempts for 47% shooting (better than his actual FG lol) in situations where his team is trailing by one possession or the game is tied. Ridiculous percentage. Chris Paul is at 45%, and then it drops off significantly from there to the 3rd player at 40%.

LeBron's reaction to the gamewinner isn't the kind of reaction a coldblooded killer has after just hitting the gamewinner.

This is how you react

LBJs was a playoff game. Gilberts wasn't.
