Yea, Denver definitely got over on us in that trade.

This is from Denver who didn't like any of our players, LOL? I do miss the team ball concept. But we'll see where we are once things settle down. It will be interesting to see what Denver does in the playoffs, I mean is Gallo going to be there Star Player now? I'd love to see it happen. We are basically where we are because of "ME"lo, we could have still had Gallo, AR, a draft pick, Felton and then "ME"lo at the end of the year. That said, I will say we do look very good with our play of late considering the team is gutted (Wow, can't believe that still happened.) And we are going to have to get creative and hope for the best next year as we don't have any cap space. This next draft is going to be important for us - not only for the player but perhaps for who we might trade the pick for.

Anyone see that foul Mos did on last night? Wasn't terrible but it was a bit hard and Gordon is out once again...
Denver lost for a change.

I really do laugh at people who blame the terms of the deal on melo. Guess what fellas? It was up to us to decide exactly how much we were willing to pay for him and then walk away if that offer was not accepted. Melo wanted his money and wanted nyc. Fine. We could have at any point said too bad, it's denver or nj for you, we don't go one iota above this offer. It was our choice and our responsibility for it, not melo's.

According to this poll, 2/3rds of UK posters disagreed with the trade. So Marv, I guess you and Dolan are the 1/3rd who agree with the trade.

So like 12 people liked it, and like 16 people didn't. So this small sample size of forum posters who thought it was a bad trade is smarter than almost every NBA analyst who says the Knicks got the better of the trade? Right. They're more knowledgeable than Magic Johnson. Great.

k-t, 1st of all, my post was in response to people who blame melo for the trade. he took his risk and won. he was more interested in coming here with his money intact than who ny had to give up. but that was his right and WE had the control in our hands to either play that out with denver or not. and we chose to do it.

as far as my view on the trade, i think we overpaid. by exactly one body - mozgov. that's right , i'm in that camp. my reasoning - we would have been really set as a team if we could have held onto him. melo is a huge upgrade over gallo/chandler and chauncey is a huge upgrade over felton. we put amear, fields and an improving 7'1" 275 baby bull out there with them and we are ready to party. plus - caving on mozgov was kind of ball-less. you have to decide where you’re drawing the line and issuing your F U if the other guy won’t respect it.

I really would not doubt that we select a player for Denver this year with our pick and they send us Mos back. We can't trade the pick but we can select a player and then trade them. I'm thinking we are now set at PG with Billups for 3 or 4 years and though Douglas isn't a great backup at all, what we really need is a center.

Oh, I agree, I thought Mos was the breaking point in the trade. Hard one, not sure how far we could have gone with the team we had though, now the sky is the limit.

Feel bad for Gordon and the Clippers. I think they could have ended up near .500 by the end of the year if he had not gotten hurt earlier in the year.

You build a good team the right way and you never really take into consideration injuries when planning the future of your team.
