Gallo could have a solid career as he definitely has talent, but you are inducting him to the Hall of Fame because you didn't like the Melo Trade! Let's see what George Karl can get out of Gallo before we do that, shall we? Because after a great game, usually came a disappearing act from Gallo. We'll see what happens.
By the way, while we give Karl and Gallo time to see what they become, lets GIVE A FREAKING TIME TO MELO TO GET USED TO HIS NEW TEAM! Melo has actually a better history to back him up! You mad we gave a lot for him? Well, such is life! We will have a chance to surround Melo and Amare with enough talent to be more than the fun team we lost in a trade, but actually contend for a championship, something that has always been the dream of us as fans!
He played great. While he did not do it offensively, he played great defense on Paul Pierce shutting him down in the 1st half. Gallo also forced Pierce into 2 early fouls in the 1st quarter and the minute he came in the 2nd quarter he fouled Gallo again. Gallo defended great against Ray Allen and even played PF and defended Big Baby really well. He had 3-4 blocks and a couple more he changed the path of the ball. He also guarded KG in one sequence where he forced KG to a fadeaway shot that he partially blocked that caused a 24 sec shot clock violation.
You guys really have to stop looking at the stat sheet and look at the flow of the game. Gallo is an outstanding basketball player. He is the complete package.
Ok, so lets undo the trade and build around superstar Gallo. Excellent!
I loved Gallo and the fact that we traded him won't make me change my mind. But being unhappy with the trade shouldn't blind anybody. Gallo was great for us but he was super inconsistent.
Its funny how the fans opinion changes with everything. When Lebron was about to make his "Decision", many here said their real dream was to get Melo, the Newyorker. When LJ took his talent to Miami, everyone said we had to get another star, if not we were always gonna come up short to The Heat.
Now that we have traded for the second and even brought another player, a champion, with experience and still All-Star play, we want our other players back. Come on! The most we could've expected out of that group was a total of 41-45 wins and a first round exit. Right now we may not have the depth of others, but this Melo move makes it more realistic to dream about a championship. In a stars league, we got two. In a league where veterans mean more chances in the playoffs, we are leaded by savvy Chauncey Billups. Do we need more pieces? Of course we do! But none of them necessarily involve a star anymore for the next few seasons. If we bring a few big bodies that can help with rebounding, this team can go to war and may even surprise us.
Do we need time to get in sync? Of course! We just traded our rotation! But with time, we will have a better chance in the playoffs with this cast.
