I totally agree. If he'd just attack the rim and never shoot jump-shots, he'd be awesome. But you'd think he'd have figured that out by now.

guys he will never do that, that is Melo's game... he shoots contested mid range jumpers.. thats what he does.. u gotta get used to that... I would be fine with it if he played TEAM defense.. he does not

hate melo, hate the trade. let melo go to the nets solo. who cares. dude is the Jamal Crawford of SFs - straight chukker. he's not benard king. he's more like glenn big dogg robinson - trash. I seriously do not understand why people love melo. guy is a black hole on offense and a liability on defense. He does not pass. He thinks he is above the team. He is actually happy the knicks gave up so many players for him because it made Melo's ego feel better - Melo said so himself "it made him feel like he's worth it" - what a dunce. Melo is a selfish player, who is nowhere near a lebron, a durant, a kobe, a wade. George Karl IS right, Good riddance melo.

What's not to like about the guy?

Its tough to get over Gallo and Wilson being gone, but maybe we can get Ill Wil back next year.

And Gallo for Mid Level year after?

KNICKS on the way UP!!!

He needs to become a better playmaker but the alarming thing is that he was never a good playmaker, just a scorer.

it is part of his game. he is amongst the lead leaders in taking it to the rim and he shoots it at a decent clip and his perimeter game is very good if you take out the contested mid range jumpers. i think that part of his game will evolve nicely under d'antoni and i'm almost positive he'll get more efficient over time...

Yea, it's tough to like a guy who speaks the way he does, looks the way he does, and acts the way he does. He is far from a respectable character. He's a plain ruffian, no integrity, no redeeming quality.

Knicks will regret this deal.

I never had a hard time disliking Carmelo... so I guess yea I'm on board with this thread. But it's not personal/character, it's his game. He blows.

His game is derived from his character. That's just how it works, it's natural law. Basketball is a team game and Melo isn't about totally about the team, he's about himself above the team.

speaks the way he does - a dead ringer for the verbal style of Michael Vick

looks the way he does - is it the tats?

acts the way he does - care to elaborate orangeblob?

far from a respectable - the beef with Goerge Karl is tacky. Karl is kinda smarmy too however. I wonder if the Karl/Isiah beef is a factor here.

no integrity - his old lady is kinda hot. Kinda.

no redeeming quality - is it the iso's?

Blame it on the rain.

The tattoos drive me crazy. WTF would anyone have a Warner Brothers tattoo? That strikes me as someone with too much money and time on his hands. If Carmelo played like Lebron, I could get past the tattoos but he obviously doesn't.

Papabear Says

I had a problem with him not waiting for the end of the season to come here because that 65 million he didn't want to leave on the table.I would have done the same thing because if I got hurt the Knicks would have looked the other way and took the next best man. Now Denver is bad mouthing him and he never said a bad thing about Denver during this whole thing. Just give Carmelo a chance.I defense sucks and every team we play we still play down to thier level. If these coaches that we have can't get this team to play defense we need to get rid of them. D'Antoni with that small ball sucks. We need big defensive men now!! D'Antoni system sucks

I care to elaborate. Example, his response to Coach Karl telling it how it is. Like a child, he is. He's very aloof, too cool for school, it's all about him. Doesn't understand the importance of self-sacrifice for the team. Another head through the wall player in the mold of Iverson, Marbury, Harrington, just more individual talent. This is all how he acts, on and off the court, he's not about anything.

Kinda is right on the old lady. Can you say overrated? Geeze.

It is the iso's.

I've alway been a Melo fan. Like him much more now that he's a Knick. Let's see how all you haters feel when he drops 40+ in a playoff game or when he drops 50 at the Garden

Everyone will like that, of course.

No one will like that the guy he was defending dropped 30 on us too.

I don't want this to get confused with a racial thing like, since Melo has tatoos and talks a certain way I don't like him LOL thats ridiculous... This is more about him not being a home-grown Knick like Chandler/Gallo

It's not ridiculous and it's not racial.
