Seriously though, I hope TMS considers just taking a break and coming back when he's got a little distance on the whole thing. I know how it feels to start taking all this stuff too seriously. Life is just to short to get upset about what's happening on an internet forum. In that regard, if it's upsetting you, then by all means - take a break, or stop altogether.

You have also spent the last few years coining this term in a negative light in the context of this board and when you brand someone with it I can see it getting offensive. Hell, it offends me when you label this move or that move a starphuck when it is a move I agree with.

It seems that going after any big ticket guy while giving up youth is a starphuck now with you. I understood the meaning when you coined it here under Zeke's reign. You have morphed it to generalize any move that is not youth development oriented. And you portray it as a cheap way to win. Unfortunately for TMS he took the bait. Martin didn't help by getting involved either, even though his intentions were good. He did-at least to me also- come off more on your side of the fence then TMS' and was a bit more standoffish then he implied in his response to TMS on the first page of this thread.

I also don't understand how Martin egging you on at the beginning of this thread could have been seen by him as a way to diffuse this situation.

Martin I have never been a mod, so please take this as an observation from the other side of the fence. In the position of mod, you seem to be in the unenviable position of being the boss while being one of the guys. I get it. I also get everyone has favorites. But when you are trying to diffuse a situation as a mod I can see why TMS would get upset. You didn't come off as neutral.

Also as an aside, certain posters here have earned quite a bit of respect and latitude. I have seen Nalod post some images back when that would have gotten others banned without so much as a stern talking to. Posters like Nalod, Silver, TMS, Bip, Briggs, HARDCORE to name a few have really earned their stripes here. I am not suggesting carte blanc but they have earned respect. The way you told TMS to post elsewhere was disrespectful, insulting, and quite honestly, dissapointing.

Nalod, I can understand the issues some guys are pointing out that they have with your posting style. Personally I find your postings comical-in a good way-even though I can see where people can see you coming off as smug or arrogant. I am not telling you how to post, but be aware that if you purposefully come off that way don't be surprised when sometimes posters go off.

TMS, if you are reading this, take some time off come back when you are ready.

I think you are re-defining starphuck to the one user who actually defined it. My understanding was the a significant part of starphuck was to also handcuff your team for future moves or development, which certainly hasn't happened.

The thread faded and then Nalod created this thread. Do you really think a thread defining starphuch was aimed at malice towards TMS? I didn't take it that way.

How is what I posted standoff-ish? Is the above not neutral?

I will admit the term standoffish was a poor choice of words.

But I do think saying TMS is redefining the term implied you were more on Nalod's line of thinking(especially when you had said Nalod defined it) or accusing TMS of not understanding because he had a different "meaning" of the term.

As I said before, to me, the term has taken on a negative meaning the way Nalod has evolved it. I can see that TMS had a different meaning-and a much less negative-idea of the term. Or at least that is how I took it.

That is just my opinion. I think the situation devolved quite a bit with misunderstanding on all 3 sides and it got bitter.

I do still stand by what I said though. I don't want to tell you how to mod-your forum, not mine. I do understand the fine line mods have to walk. Obviously if you feel 100% comfortable in the situation that is all that matters. I am just telling you how I took it over the medium of posting. Sometimes things just get taken the wrong way.
