2) That James Dolan has transferred ownership of the Knicks to some other person.
3) Isiah publicly acknowledges his mistakes and sexual misconduct and apologizes to the fans for the embarassment he has caused us.
4) Isiah's role is limited to that of a director of scouting such that he can have an opportunity to assist in the draft selection process.
5) Under no circumstances is Isiah allowed to (a) have an office at MSG, (b) have authority to enter into any agreement on behalf of the Knicks, (c) travel with the team, (d) talk to the press.

Even if all of the above happened, I'd still think thrice about hiring him.

the bold part is the only role acceptable for me.

I would just stop supporting the knicks until dolan is gone if this happens. I would watch here and there, but my diehard support will be done with... as much as I love my knicks, I can't stomach bringing in Isiah after walsh.. it is like my only daughter being married to a Nice, well groomed Doctor or Accountant, with a nice house, savings, 401k, the works. and then her leaving him for a Pimp.... that is how I would feel..

I couldn't stop rooting for the Knicks but I would do everything I could to keep bringing up all of the things that Isiah did to the franchise as well as the things he did personally that disgraced the franchise while he was in charge. I think if Stern can prevent Dolan from hiring Isiah he will. I am not sure what Dolan's attraction to Isiah is. You would think if a guy destroyed the franchise you owned for the present and the future you would never consider having him back. When you consider that he also was charged with sexual harrassment and is on tape saying racist and chauvinistic statements you wouldn't bring him back. Calling out the fans, throwing his signature players and daughters under the bus should have been the final clues to help Dolan connect the dots that Isiah is just not a good guy or a competent employee. I can't imagine Garden security having to take away Fire Isiah signs next April.

I don't care if He Whose Name Must Not Be Said had a 30 game winning streak. He Whose Name Must Not Be Said stained NY with his Ron Jeremy sized crap. Look beyond the green pastures, the world will laugh if He Whose Name Must Not Be Said is hired back. No bs. A cheetah don't change it spots.

I never want this to happen. However, I would love to see D'Antoni coach for a flavor of the month GM like Isiah. A guy that would throw anyone under the bus certainly isn't going to save a coach who is 86-126 or even protect him. It would behoove D'Antoni to be a little more loyal. He might just have to work for the guy that puts the fun in Dolan's dysfunction.

I wouldn't know what to do with my knick fandom. I can't root for any other franchise because I never really cared about them. I grew up with the Knicks, not the Nets, Thunder, spurs or any others. Phuck this owner. He's a manchild acting like he's this entrepreneur.

Dolan = Isiah douchewise, which is why these news frighten me.

Honestly, I would be disappointed, but if Melo joins the team, everyone on this board is still going to follow the Knicks. Even IT cannot mess up a team of Melo, Amare, Gallo, Fields, and Timmy M. Plus, I think IT is a solid draft person, so we hopefully can continue to find good players at the bottom of the draft. Walsh has been good, but it is not like the guy has been perfect. In fact, if Suns stepped up and paid Amare, we probably would all be calling for Walsh's head right now.

Even when the owner shows such flagrant disregard of the sport, the fans, and common sense?

I understand your perspective, as I've never been able to be a fan of any other baseball team than the Yanks, which I grew up watching back with Guidry, Munson, Nettles, Dent, Chamblis, Reggie, Willie, etc. And I've tried to ardently follow the players that I've really liked on the Knicks after they got traded. If I couldn't do it for Ewing, there's now way I'm going to start rooting for another team. But a rehire of Thomas and assignment to a significant position would far outweigh anything the Boss ever did. Dolan takes all the potential bad of ownership and takes it to actual new heights.

The product on the floor has to be good and Isiah can't coach this team. If he is an exec he has to keep a low profile but the problem is Isiah is a public persona and his smile and "charm" was one of his assets.

Any misteps in the running of the team, a bad trade, losing streak he will not get the benefit of the doubt which Donnie has.

Donnie took the high road for most of his career and his reputation has always been good.

Isiah burns a path of destruction.

Lets hope Dolan finds another pet project. Dolan loves a reclamation project. He is good like that but can't let his personal preference to save a mans soul get in the way of running team.
