The Future, a time not today, but the day after today.
Yes, Felton can drop the buckets and dish the rocks for the next 6-8 years
No, Felton is just slightly better than Duhon, we're still searching for a worthy leader

I've said on many occassions that he looks like he's playing hurt.

Taken a pounding on several nights, but refuses to stay down.

With this high PNR, when Amar'e doesn't get penetration, Ray shots the long J, but without a lot of lift.

Let's see what a few days off around the ALL Star weekend does for him.

Angry props to the fella for playing hurt, for playing tough, for being a warrior; very good things.

But the underlying problem here is that his decision making is not the best. It's mediocre. He forces too many shots and stops dishing the rocks. He's not always looking to drop dimes, which is something a point should hold as a priority at all times. I know a point should drop buckets, but only if he has to. Felton, he acts too much like a Marbury at times, a bucket dropping PG first, a rock disher second. So that's an issue.

I'm not convinced he's our permanent solution and I think his contract status reflects this. Had he been a clear cut answer, it would be solidified from the start. It's an audition he has and I'm not sold on casting him.

WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

I like Felton. He palys hard and hurt and his numbers decreasing numbers have to do with him playing so much and playing hurt. We need to get a backup PG before this guys totally breaks down.

still confused about him playing hurt...seems like he would be shooting less and passing more knowing he is physically banged up

Felton is 6th in the NBA in assists averaging more per game than Russell Westbrook, Jason Kidd, Derrick Rose, Lebron James, Tony Parker, Jameer Nelson & Chauncey Billups... he's not 1 of our problems right now... our problem is we have no one to take some of the load off his shoulders from a running the team standpoint... Felton has been playing hurt for weeks & is playing a huge minutes load right now (8th in the NBA)

wonder how much of being 6th has to do with style of mda run and gun and small ball...agree he is not # 1 issue but he needs to change his mentality for us to get better and be our pt guard of future

Ray just needs to get easier shots. For a stretch there he was money from mid range and the pick and roll was working nicely. He was getting in the lane and getting lots of layups and floaters. He takes too many threes. I think he's near the top of the league in 3 pt attempts and only around 34% last time I looked.

The NBA season is so long and we have needed to push this guy hard all year. If we could get by with him on the bench it would be great, but we tend to see leads go down when he's not in there. I also think it's understandable for players to have some kind of slump during a season. Only the elite players tend to keep a consistent level of play for most of the season. Felton isn't elite so I never expected him to play great all 82 games.

pace certainly has something to do w/his stats, but it also has a lot to do w/how run down he's become playing all these minutes... 38 mpg in an MDA style offense requires a lot more conditioning & stamina than playing in a slow half court style set... i have to give Ray Felton props for how he's been able to tough it out up to this point... the fact that he takes shots in crunchtime IMO has something to do w/our lack of another star scoring option outside of Amare... players that can create for themselves are usually the ones that are looked upon to take that last shot in crunchtime... Gallo, for all his improvement this year in terms of getting to the FT line & being more aggressive driving to the hole, is not yet the guy that u can dump the ball to & ask to take the game winning shot on an iso... the calls he gets won't always be there in the last seconds of a game when he's driving & laying up something out of control to draw a call from the refs... Ray's ballhandling & penetrating skills are the best on this team & he's fearless... usually u wanna see those types of guys have the ball in their hands with the game on the line... if we had someone like Melo on the team i think u'd see Felton tone down his game in those terms & become more of a distributor in crunchtime... 1 thing's for sure, i love the defense Felton plays on the perimeter.

Hey Brandon Jennings is a career 37% shooter who gets 5 assists and all he gets is praise haha

yup... it's strange how some guys are down on Felton but they go crazy over Jennings.

nah, not strange... just people screaming that Donnie should've drafted him and wanting him to be great so they can feed their ego and believe they should be a head scout.

Not in personality of course, but his game is looking a lot like Marbury's. I hate to say.

I would extend Felton next year and keep him for the long run until he comes down to Charlie Ward levels.

i wouldn't extend Felton until i knew what was gonna happen w/CP3 & Deron in 2012 & if the Knicks have any chance of going after them.

Why? I don't want be burned again. Chances are they will resign with their own team or go to Miami. Felton has proven himself this year and I'm betting my left nut he will play at an even higher level next year after having one year of D'antoni ball under his belt.

Not his fault that guys are hitting wide open shots to begin with. Felton is our PG and I'm happy with it. Would you rather have Duhon back??
