But just when you think a guy has turn the conner( chandler, TD, amare, mosgov, AR, felton) they do a complete 360. for example, we played some locked down defense against chicago, miami, boston, indi, then can't stop no one else, were falling behind by 20+ points only to go on a major run and come up short. I recall this same sht happing the last few seasons..so really how far have we come.

Doing 360's is fine with me. Its the 180's that I worry about.

They also now represent Warkentien (I have NO idea why he went with them).

Let's be real for a second - there might be something to this (the idea that CAA is trying to leverage their relationship with the Knicks):

1) Donnie has been trying to bring in a "consultant" or GM or whatever since he got here. He wanted to bring in Chris Mullen, but was told he couldn't hire anyone and he had to go with Isiah's people.

2) The second Warkentien signs with CAA Donnie is allowed to bring in a "consultant" and it's a guy he likes... but also a guy who is represented by CAA - who represent Melo, CP3 and Allan Houston.

There is something a little fishy about all of it. It at least implies that Walsh didn't have total control over the decision, which in and of itself is whack. Have we heard Walsh even comment on the hire of Warkentien yet?

It's fine with you to go in circles, to keep going around the block and end up where you started, thats a complete waist of time..

If by some chance we don't make the playoffs, the only thing walsh woould have accomplish worth talking about is Landty Fields, and Gallo..all those contracts he got rid of, were set to be dead by this time had we did nothing.

Amare is having a very good year, but he still a piss poor rebounder, and a suspect defender..yeah I know he's blocking shots, but while he's chasing down guards to block there shots, there slipping the ball to whom ever he suppose to be guarding..A one legged Dirk scored at will yesterday, and that was on Amare's watch

Do you remember when Dolan gave Isiah his extension?

it was the biggest mistake he made.

I am with knicks1248, why would you give Donnie an extension until after the trade deadline? I wouldn't. No need to.

He gave Isiah the extension during his first season as coach, the instant the Knicks got hold of the 8th spot, which they relinquished almost immediately.

Whether he said it or not, there really was no ultimatum.

This team is still a hot mess, the reason for the improve record, is the attitude more then it's the talent. thats every single young team in the NBA. Gallo, Chandler, Douglas, Mosgov, Fields, Williams... all these guys are either under 23 or havent played a 100 NBA games yet.

same here. I'll porbably retire from the NBA and focus on NCAA hooops. Which gets significantly easier for me because Lavin and the Johnies are doing some good stuff.

Wait til you see Lavin's class next year. It's good to see hoops in both pros and college seeing a resurgence. As for Isiah, I've been through too much with this team to let him keep from rooting for them. This team makes me feel like I'm a in abusive relationship in one of those Lifetime movies. I know it's bad for me, but I still think I can get them to change if I stay around long enough.

If Isiah were to get back in, we could protest against a despot (Dolan) just like the people are doing in Tunisia and Egypt!

I think there are two reasons why the story might be credible. I think the fact that Isiah was almost brought back last summer and because it was written by wojo.

Isiah Thomas still speaks regularly with the owner of the New York Knicks, sometimes several times a week, sources say. Jim Dolan, the unaccomplished son of a billionaire, confers with Thomas about the job that Donnie Walsh has done as president. Isiah is pining for his old job, so you can imagine the bruising critiques that come from the exiled emperor at Florida International University.

"Isiah knows more about where Donnie stands with Dolan than Donnie knows himself," one source familiar with the conversations told Yahoo! Sports.

First 2 paragraphs of article.

We all know that Dolan has not spoken to media in like a thousand years. So mostly this info comes from someone near Isiah.

Which is about the worst way to base info in your article off of.

normally when the reaction is knee jerk around here I think it's ridiculous. In this case, I do think the sky-is-falling attitude is prudent because we're talking about Jimmy Dolan here

There's only one number that little Jimmy has to wrap his head around: the profit numbers. And I guarantee they're better under Walsh.

And if I'm wrong, well, I'd rather not get upset about it now. If the unmentionable event happens, I'm done. Simple.

I hope Isiah gets hit by a bus.

P.S. I'm applying for a job driving a bus on the FIU campus.

Dolan is pals with a guy who destroyed a franchise and barely speaks to the guy who has made it respectable again. James Dolan does not care about the New York Knicks. Dolan would rather have his friends like Isiah run the Knicks win or lose.

Why? Because the Knicks are not an NBA franchise to him. They are his own personal toy. A toy given to him by his father that he gets to flex his juice card with.

It's a shame we have a guy who has little passion for the team. I always wanted an owner who was looking out for the best interests of the franchise. James Dolan is not that owner and never will be. Any success we may have will be despite him and not because of him.

Now that would be something to see.

Does the MSG security team have those great plastic shields, clubs, tear gas, water cannons, etc.?

All we would need to do is get the support of the "army" (police) and I think we could drive Dolan out.

I think Donnie will get resigned before Apr. 30th, probably a 2 year deal with some sort of early termination clause regarding health.

To those who claim Walsh hasn't done anything... wtf? Now we have a young team that plays together, focused on the system, all contributing, winning games. With Isaiah and Layden we had dysfunctional shyte every game. Walsh doesn't deserve an extension? Say what? Easynowmon.

Donnie's building a contender, not a second round poser team. It doesn't happen quick when starting from a financial standpoint like the one he inherited. I'm really not sure how he could have done any better. Great drafting (Gallo and Fields), great FA signings (Stat and Felton), great cap management (room for Melo this summer), while retaining a strong core. If he can do that one more time in dealing with Melo, we're there.

What's not to like?

The trade deadline fast approaches and I don't see any gutting of the core. I doubt Donnie Walnuts makes any rash moves. I doubt Melo cares more about the extension than playing for a contender starting next year and for the following 5+ years.

He may not be a big risk taker, but if he plays his cards right, Melo could set himself up for the dream career in NYC, battling for chips with the 3 divas and a few other EC teams. Gutting the roster would be counter to those interests, even if it has risks (like contract length, new CBA, new cap). Great accomplishments often require risk taking.
