I don't understand this either. I would buy out Mason Jr. before Balkman.

I have to believe its due to something other than his play.

One of Walsh's first moves were to ship off Balkman, and I thought it was due to work ethic mostly (not to mention the interview in summer league,"I'm gonna get high with green.")

Guess Donnie doesn't want to deal with that again.

Completely unnecessary on these basic trades.

Perkins was re-injured last week - sprained his MCL. Maybe they didn't think he could stay healthy for a playoffs run?

Still - I can't believe the Celtics would ship him. I wonder if Jeff Green was actually brought in with an eye towards beating the Knicks? They need Melo-stoppers now - Melo eats up Pierce.

Also, probably as a Bron stopper.
