D'Antoni put the team through a workout that focused more on the mental than any physical work Sunday. It's the mental part that the Knicks believe will make the difference now.

At the halfway point the team has a reference point if winning. They understand it and feel it.

The way the season started, then adjusted with a nice weak ass schedule and have kept themselves in most losses is impressive.

Im very satisfied with this season. They are fun to watch on most nites even when they don't win.

we need help on the boards first and foremost. I posted in another thread that we have been outrebounded by 9.5 a game on average during the 6 game losing streak. There is no other stat that needs to fixed. The scoring will come

When we were actually making our record predictions I thought the Knicks would have a .500ish first half with a very strong 2nd half and finish > 45 wins, so I can live with this.

i think we'll finish over .500 if we remain relatively healthy. unless indiana/milwaukee/philly go on a tear we're pretty much locked into the 6th seed.

as far as our recent play however we are closer to 1st round fodder than an actual threat to get out of the first round...

The Knicks won a game last night they should have won. As long as they keep doing that they'll be in good shape. Two tough games coming up against the Heat and Hawks. I hope they can pick up a W on Thursday.

The schedule does get easier again, you realize. I think this team can get into a groove again in Feb/March and win 45 games.

Sounds like definitely Bosh (high ankle sprain) and possibly Wade (migraines) might miss the Knicks/Heat game on Thursday. I don't normally like to beat depleted teams, but I think if the Knicks could beat a depleted Heat squad right now, it'd actually be a good thing for their confidence.

I think it would hurt the confidence, but not as much as a win would help the confidence.

Lebron took a team with a garbage supporting cast to the finals. As long as he's playing, we'll be the underdog.

I think the Knicks are more than capable of beating the Heat. It's gonna be tough just like any other top team we've faced. We need a bigtime performance from everyone, as we've had in other wins we've had. If we don't have one of those horrible offensive games we should be in this game with a shot to win.
