Howard is easily the best big. All his D and rebounding and he still puts up 20/game at a high %? I love Amare but he's an average rebounder and defender at best.

your not watching him... one of the best finishers in the league. Great defender, great clutch player. He and Shimmy Walker took the Celtics to the conference finals. Dude may not be top ten but dame close. Guys an 8 time all star. Cmon man... Pierce is the real deal

I watch too many celtics games man. I'm not saying he's a bad player at ALL. But he's nowhere near the top 10. What did the C's do before they acquired KG? As much as I hate the guy he drew double teams game after game leaving Allen and Pierce wide open. Garnett has started to show his age but Rondo has emerged as one of the best pg's in the league. Pierce was never the best player on that team except when they were really bad.

I never liked Pierce so you're putting me in an awkward position having to defend him. But in their title run he was huge - no way they come close to winning without him.

Before they got Garnett they had no one around him. They won 49 games in 2002 and their second best player was Walker (who was one of the biggest wastes of talent the NBA has ever seen.)

I guess you got me there. I wasn't thinking that far back. Maybe I'm underrating him a bit. Maybe I'm too stubborn haha. No way I can put him in the top 10 though. It just cant happen. That's like giving Joe Johnson a max contract. Oh wait..lol

In terms of the most valuable players for a franchise to have right now;
1-Wade (great leader, already a champ, clutch)
2-DWilliams
3-Rose
4-Lebron (best talent, but is a headcase in big games)
5-Rondo (incredible what he does for Boston, keeping all the old dudes happy)
6-Amare (has to stop avoiding fouls or he'll be off the list)
7-Howard (not higher because he can't shoot free throws, not clutch)
8-Durant
9-Melo
10-Aldridge (a younger, non euro Gasol)

Kobe,Dirk,KG,Nash are up there, but they're long in the tooth.

Griffin will blow out another joint soon and/or get caught for steroids. I'll wait out the hype on him.
Love looks like he stole the script to David Lee's career.
Johnson's very good, but who really knows how good. The team basically plays the same without him there.

Ellis, Gordon and Martin would be the toughest to rank. Lead guards on fairly bad teams.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)
