I totally agree. Just the very fact that Sarah Palin came up with that "Hit list" and that chart shows what Sarah Palin is doing is beyond bushleague. Now she has to at least be held accountable or else Briggs will be 100% right. This will become a growing trend and our country will quickly move towards being more like Mexico.

This has to end right here and right now. Palin HAS to be investigated seriously for this.

I detest Sarah Palin. But she won't be investigated. As a matter of fact the right wing media will try to spin this as the fault of the Democrats. If Sarah gets embattled, they will just rally around her and say the liberal media is out to destroy her. And that plays very well with a very VOCAL 35% of this country.

No chance for an investigation, but her national reputation will have taken a major hit, IMO, and any chances of her achieving major political office (If she still harbored thoughts of such things) have passed.

I would be nice if there was a reaction from moderate Republicans, and they tried to take back their party from the nuts like Palin, but I doubt if they have enough prominent leaders to take on that battle.

There are a good amount of examples on this site http://crooksandliars.com/ to really show how the right wing has stirred up their base using dangerous rhetoric for political gain.

Poor taste in the commercial but I don't think you can directly link that to what's happened. Putting crosshairs on states isn't tantmount to inciting violence. If it was we'd have alot more of these incidents, given how many followers Palin seems to have.

ALso it's hard to say where this guy lies. He is an anti governement type with some weird feeeings about our education system. His favorite books include Mein Kamf and Communist Manifesto(both leftist publications). Liberals will use this to try to take down their opponents as usual but I think this guy is a wack job whose creed doesn't match liberal or conservative.

And this is why calls for accountability are laughable. Just wait till the right wing propaganda machinery kicks in to gear. They will be rationalizing every incendiary statement made by Palin et al and telling people how those things should not be linked to "random" acts of violence like this. It will be politics as usual, accountability my ass.

And this is why politics as usual continues. Every event can be used, reason or evidence be damned. The people are too stupid to tell the difference once the liberal propaganda machine kicks in and floods the airwaves.

I am sorry I dont buy the right wing suddenly turning rational. But yeah reason and evidence can be tainted by politics just as much as anything else. Reason and evidence are open to interpretation and we all know what the right does with those.

Thank you Markvmc for straightening out the Limbaugh-ites. The Nazis and the Mussolini fascists were Ultra-Right Wing. Russ Limbaugh, in his hate-creating dialogues tries to label the worst modern dictators as left-wing liberals to fuel the fires of hate. He tries to change history by denying the truth.

No its not. He is an Ultra-Right wing terrorist.

Terrible tragedy. Looks like Giffords may pull through, but it's completely deplorable.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I hate the Tea Party. I seems to filled with a bunch of racist that I truly believe still have a problem with the fact that America has a black president more than anything else.

I hated John McCain, but the only thing I do respect him for is during the campaign when the Anti-Obama rhetoric was about to turn to the point of hysteria, he publicly denounced at a townhall meeting that Obama was not a muslim (not that there is anything wrong with that) and that he was not a terrorist. I was happy that someone in politics had the good sense to realize that trying to win an election does not justify causing a race riot in this country. I am said for this lady and I hope this is the beginning of the end of the tea party.

SHe should sue Sarah Palin for being too stupid to be a political candidate. It is amazing the idiots are willing to follow. It is like since Palin is a stupid wolf-shooting idiot, all these other idiots want her to lead because they identify with her. Wouldn't it be better to be lead by people that actually are intelligent rather than geting "Joe the Plumber" types to run the world.

This shooting just freaks me out terribly and yet my friends who listen to Rush Limbaugh just put it down as a "liberal media rhetoric" trying to discredit Palin et al.

Interesting to hear the difference in the offers of condolence from Sarah Palin and from U.S. Senator John McCain(Republican). McCain's is from the heart and showing outrage; Palin's is a cookie-cutter statement that has no feeling behind it. I truly wonder if Sarah Palin has any remorse over this?

Sarah Palin

"My sincere condolences are offered to the family of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and the other victims of today’s tragic shooting in Arizona.
On behalf of Todd and my family, we all pray for the victims and their families, and for peace and justice."
– Sarah Palin

John McCain

"Whoever did this; whatever their reason, they are a disgrace to Arizona, this country and the human race, and they deserve and will receive the contempt of all decent people and the strongest punishment of the law."

The freaky thing about this shooting is that Gabrielle Giffords addressed this violent possibility in an interview shortly after the Palin map came out. Credit to John Wallace for posting earlier.

Guy was just crazy. His political views are inconsistent. Mein Kampf and the Manifesto? That's contradictory. I don't think his politics were very serious, it's likely he was just a crazy guy, just out of his mind, not on this planet.

Actually, no. I'm not sure what Limbaugh has to with the conversation though.

The Nazi's had the state control both their press, economy, while making the state responsible for providing work for its citizens. Private buisness had to profit share. This was a socialist regime. I've never listened to the Limbaugh shhow in my life and its comical how quick you guys are to label and high five each other.

He also got kicked out of commuinty college and would only be permitted to return if he passed a mental health eval.

While Palin is repulsive we as a country have long embraced guns as symbols for decades. TV Westerns like "Gunsmoke" and dozens of others always had shoot outs. This guy is nuts. But the "left" can't use politic rhetoric as the blame.

I know many people who are Tea party people and are plenty upset with things. They are very emotional and passionate about their politics and see it as Patriotic to be so. They embrace many non truths as "news".

I know a guy going off on how great Texas is and he should have moved there! No deficit! Nobody checked that Texas does its budget ever TWO years and the down turn was not felt in 2008 tax rolls but sure did in 09 and 10! They are just as bad if not worse I think with the 4th largest deficit!

This shooting was bound to happen not by politics but because there are many guns and many crazies out there.

Palin is a moron but I can't put this one on her.
