I think by far he has the best jumpshot on this team and besides Amare the only other mid range shooter we have. He can score in a variety of ways. Allan Houston did not have a superior handle--but good enough--Wilson's handle at 6-8 is good enough and hes young enough to continue to improve it. Wilson is easily one of the most under rated players in the NBA. He fits in well here. I look at Wilson as a guy who is a better version of Allan Houston at the same stage in their careers. That is why you have to be careful making decisions on 22-23 yo kids who produce like this. Hes not at his peak yet hes already close 2 a 20 point guy shooting close to 50%
the biggest thing about Chandler is the year by year improvements he makes. This was the first non surgery healthy off season and he's clearly a better player after having a summer to work on his game. He's an elite althete, he's tough and he continues to get better and add weapons to his skill set. I would say his value is also very high.
I'm willing to trade Chandler if I can get a bigman like OK4 that I see playing next to Amare for the next 4-5 years.
I dont know what will happen with the CBA, lockout, etc but some team is going to pay Chandler, and they will probably give him $8(ish) a year to start. Maybe 5 years $50mm, something close to what Tyrus Thomas got, and he's worth it. I have no problem at all with keeping him for that money either. He's a good player, he should be paid like a good player.
I either want good value for Chandler now like OK4 or I want to resign him. He can play the 2, 3 or 4. He fills a lot of roles and needs. This is a good building block player.
