![]() I love Reggie Evans and think every team needs a garbage guy like that. Couple of issues with him, a) he has absolutely no offensive game which could adversely affect STAT as it would be easier for the opposing D to double him with Evans on the floor, b) he has a $5.1M expiring contract this season and I have a feeling Toronto is going to want to pair him with Calderon's contract in a trade. While I do like Calderon's game, especially in MDA's offense, his contract is absolutely brutal with 2 yrs and $22M remaining.

![]() The more I think about it--the more my main target would be Grant Hill. Perfect 6th man for this system. I think Phoenix would be open to an asset trade--especially cash for example Randolph 3mm and a 2nd rounder for Hill(who I would like to resign to a 2 year extension for 3.5per) That would give us a wing rotation of
Gallo Chandler Fields and Hill(with Williams as a 5th) we can than put large amount of cash/FA $$$ next year into a big. I don't know what type of big we can get THIS year to enhance but if we were able to get Grant Hill even a Jared Jefferies(maybe from being cut?) would be good enough for us to really be able to compete with anyone in 7 games. ![]() I would be careful with getting too many wing players especially with a coach like MDA who keeps a tight rotation. What we really need is a banger that can get some boards and play the big centers to take some wear and tear of Amar'e. What would be the best scenario is for MDA to carve out 10-15 mins a game for AR and mold him into a Camby type player which I think he can be. If he could help get Amar'e down to 35 minutes a game that will keep him fresh for a playoff run.
With the uncertainty of the CBA looming there will be alot of teams looking to dump players at the deadline so we will have a chance to fortify the bench come February. |

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

AR has to get it out of his head that he's a SF/SG. He has to play like a 4/5 as Mike recently said. Mike wants him to play with energy on the boards and defending the paint. Get out on the break and finish. It's really simple. My only guess is that he's still not doing these things in practice and that's what is holding him back. But don't assume that Mike isn't telling him exactly what he wants, cuz he's surely said it enough times in print. |
