How 'bout Turiaf and AR for Ryan Anderson, Daniel Orton, cash to balance out the deal and a future 1.
Orlando: Turiaf gives them the ready-now big they're after, they might prefer AR over Orton as a project (AR has the best upside out of anyone being discussed in this deal on both sides) and they'll always be a top team as long as Howard's around so that future 1 is no big deal (it'll always be low 20s regardless of year). Anderson and Orton are extra pieces for the Magic, neither contributing right now nor in that club's immediate plans in all likelihood.
Knicks: I'd hate to give up on AR but if we got back Anderson and Orton it'd be a little easier to swallow. We'd have to nurse Anderson back to health (still out with a sprained right foot--expected back in the lineup by the end of next week) but when we do we'd be getting a very good reserve PF, maybe a guy we could start alongside Amar'e. Dude can shoot it like Gallinari from distance, he's as big and he can also post up and rebound the ball very well. Still very young too - RA's only a year older than Randolph. As long as Howard and Bass (along with Turiaf as the new 3rd big) are around and that team's in win now mode, Daniel Orton will never get a chance to play there. Orton's a little green but he's got great size and girth -- dude could either turn into Jackie Butler or become something very useful--I'm leaning more toward the latter, only thing is we'd have to be patient with him. We could probably afford to wait for him a little more than the Magic could. If he's not ready for NBA action maybe we finally utilize the NBDL for a change..We'd get the extra 1st round pick that DEN may covet in a Carmelo deal.. A followup move I'd execute immediately: release Mason Jr. and sign one of the following capable bigs to take Turiaf's place: Dwayne Jones, Chris Johnson or Courtney Sims. Chris Johnson might be able to give us some of what we thought we'd be getting outta Randolph..
EDIT -- Don't think this would work -- we'd have to take back either Duhon or Q to make it work salary-cap wise and I wouldn't be willing to do that..The Magic are over the cap significantly..
