gallo did exactly what every fan been wanting to see, appluad it, dont make it sound anything less than that was his king moment.

You are right Gallo did exactly what I'd like to see EVERY night. This thread had zero to do with that.

This thread is about the unfair criticizing of a guy we can acquire who has proven he can do the same thing for 82 game that Gallo did last night for 2 quarters. Simple as that.

Agreed with fact that melo can produce consistant numbers compared to a player who been on starting line up 2 years but martin already answered your point. Melo is going to cost a lot, not just money but losing support cast if Denver is really asking for all the players for him.

Martin answered a point that was never asked. This thread was not created to compare Gallo to Melo. The board is filled with threads comparing the two players.

Last night Gallo scored the majority of his points off of 1 on 1 play and played great. Im not denying that. My gripe is individuals criticizing Melo for doing the same thing for his entire career.

like who? Melo cant be stopped 1-1, thats a positive.

Here are what the Melo detractors say (me being one of them)
1) Knicks have the best offense in the league, and Melo is a scorer. He fills a need that is already the strength of the team

2) He will cost too much. Even if you just sign him outright he will keep you from resigning Chandler and any other players. Last season we used that cap money to sign Felton for $7mm. If we resigned Chandler @ 6 years $55mm that deal starts at $7mm. Carmello would cost what Chandler + Felton + Mosgov costs. Its not worth it, not for the Knicks. We already have the one star. What we need is size, defense and balance and depth.

3) Melo isnt Lebron, Kobe, CP3, Dwight Howard or any of the other super stars in this league that can dominate both sides of the ball, yet the "get Melo at all costs crowd" treats him as such. I hear the same things, you need stars to win, you need Melo in the playoffs, etc etc... despite him only advancing once and being a below average defender. He's having a very good rebounding year, which is a plus. Melo's a top 20 player, but he's not top 10. There are easily 10 guys who have a much higher impact than Melo.

Its pretty simple. We dont need him because we score just fine, we have a go-to star player already and he would cost way too much and we have a very promising young core worth keeping together.

Just checking, Anubis. You are a Knicks fan, right?
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
