turiaf in the mda dog house. crazy. coach makes the team's best sixman a starter (wilson) which gutted the bench, then weakens the bench by making turiaf a bench player, who can not come into a game and maintain the lead the starters grow.

turiaf is another gallo in that you cannot bench him if you want to get max production. turiaf and gallo without amar'e by their side look quiet normal. while chandler has that inner spark, to look like the man coming off the bench.

mda may be rewarding wilson for his spark but he is hurting the team, in that the knicks need that spark off the bench. lets really make this about team ball and put players in the best position to help the team win.

get turiaf back in starting rotation and ffs find minutes for ar i dont give a sheep what coach see's in practice we need ar in game. and yes play rautins too, felton played 45 mins yesterday, nuts, thats team ball? rautins could have given felton a couple mins breather. start using your team coach.

Does anyone know why D'Antoni NEVER calls timeouts? I kind of understand trusting your players and not calling a TO to set up a play within the final minute. But when it's clear that we're about to blow a 10 or 12 point lead why doesn't he call a timeout to try to stop the run? It happens almost every game. Knicks are playing great and look ready every game, but some of the things he does really annoy me.

I have a question for you: I am not necessarily against acquiurng Carmelo but if the knicks were to acquire Carmelo for a package of Wilson, AR and say our first round pick, where do you think Gallo would play? Carmelo is not a guard defensively nor is Gallo for that matter. So, you would have a logjam at the small forward spot and a unbalanced starting five on the defensive end.

under your scenario, personally, i would switch gallo to the 6th man slot. he would add credibility and height to the bench and give you another good option for scoring when melo and or amare are out. that, imo, would be ideal and a way to utilize both melo and gallos skills pretty well.

ar does not have trade value in correlation with carmelo. a trade would honestly cost at minimum, both gallo and wilson.

knicks new starting lineup-- turiaf, amar'e, melo, fields, felton.

now if wilson was sixman you can rightfully argue, well you just gutted the bench, but mda plays wilson as starter, mda already gutted bench. so ny is replacing two starters for one star. fair trade. because its a fair trade both teams fans will scream saying the other side won trade.

Cheers, Jimimou, thanks for your responses. However, moving Gallo to the bench, as proposed, creates a new set of problems. Now, we lose the spacing that Gallo provides, which we all know is critical to the success of the offense. Further, with Wilson gone, who plays power forward? Yes, Stat can play there. However, in this scenario, we would be dependent on Turiaf at center. While I like Turiaf's game, given his injury history, I do not believe this would be wise. The point of the post is thus: Yes, 'Melo is a great player. However, given the disruptions his acquisition would cause, is it really worthwhile to trade for him?

that said, i wouldn't overpay to get Melo... Wilson & Gallo are both really good... if it takes much more than those guys to get Melo then i don't want Melo.

Gallo in any trade hurts us TMS......

Hope this kid proves me right b4 any trade!

He is getting closer...... I guarantee a HUGE game from Gallo tonight in a WIN!

Yeah and also people tend to either give too much credit or too little credit to the Coach and the Players. It's MOSTLY about having good players. What Miks's system does do is kind of boost the chances of a team to win games. We don't have the same level of talent that Boston has, but we can get in there and fight due to the manner in which Mike has his teams play. If the players buy in, it's a 100% team game. Anyone who loves pure BB should love that aspect of Mike's system. It's all about the team. The ball should move and the guy with the best shot shoots it. That's what we do and it's very hard to stop. That is why this team always has a punchers chance cuz the style is very hard to stop even for good defenses.
