one thing to also remember with MJ being part owner of the Bobcats & Melo repping the Jordan brand... he stands to gain more marketing value for the Jordan brand if he gets Melo playing in a large market for a bigname team... but then helping out a conference rival team by helping them land Melo would go against Jordan's competitive spirit... it's gonna be an interesting several weeks leading up to the trade deadline.

The only thing I take from that article, and it isn't explicitly stated, is that Larry Brown is working the phones to dump Gerald Wallace. But I don't see Denver jumping on that.

And who are the Bobcats going to give up for Melo? Wallace, Diaw, Jackson or Augustine? LOL all day.
The only thing that the Bobcats have of value is lotto picks and maybe Augustine, that is about it.
There may not be a draft this next time around because of the lockout. Do the Bobcats want to give away 3 1st rounders and rely on F.A. to get talent? Doubtful, if Denver can't get a better team around Melo, how will the Bobcats?

This rumor is B.S. and it's most likely coming out of Denver. Look, who are we bidding against? The only chance another team has of stealing Melo is an elite team, Lakers or Orlando come to mind. And even then, will Denver get back more talent that we could give? NO, it would be purely to spite us. Melo knows with him on this team, we would be deadly, right up there with some of the Elite teams (if we don't give up the farm to get him.)
