Say no mo'.

I've been saying the same thing, re Derek Harper. Reminds me of Derek a lot. Great steady leader, plays well on both sides of the ball, and clutch. Love it.

it's really too bad Stephon Marbury didn't come in w/the mindset that Ray Felton has, because he could have easily been the best PG we've had since Clyde Frazier... he had that kind of talent, but he was all about himself.

"All Alone" - the man was all about himself. If he could just have had his head on straight, he would have been a great PG. But he was not a leader. He was poisonous. He alienated his teammates instead of picking them up, instead of leading them, carrying them to the finish line, he pouted, sulked, glared. That, and he is legitimately, certifiably insane, not to mention dumb as rocks. It takes more than being able to put the ball in the hoop to be a winning PG.

word up... the impact that adding 2 real leaders to this roster has had can't be understated.

Much respect to you TMS for this manup, although I will admit I was just as angry about the trade at the time too, so I will semi man up, even though I forgave Donnie by the time he made the David Lee trade AND signed Felton.

PS: To the people saying "Ohhh, Felton is a product of Amar'e and the system." Have you been watching him play? He's playing so tough and intelligent and I think Amar'e has been just as much a product as Felton. I think it's just a matter of two very smart players (Yes, I just called Amar'e a smart player) who are really complimenting eachother and when one goes out, the other can still hold his ground nicely.

And Felton is such a BETTER and smarter and tougher overall than Marbury ever was for us. And he's a leader.

Now lets see what we can do against the good teams. We had some struggles even against the bad teams, but lets at least give the good teams some fits. Maybe LeBron will forget to take his talents from South Beach or something when he plays against us.

“Whenever I’m about to do something, I think ‘Would an idiot do that?’ and if they would, I do NOT do that thing.”- Dwight Schrute

Regardless, another thing we can put to bed about this trade is the 2011 pick swap. We should feel confident, that the cost of the trade was really only the 2012 pick. Hopefully that pick will be in the 20's.

Now the only thing we can bitch about is picking Jordan Hill in the first place. Remind me again, wasn't Derozan still available? Anyway, nobody's perfect. Big ups to Donnie Walnuts.

Welcome onboard, TMS. May the light guide you towards a Knicks championship.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Way to go TMS. I'm just glad that things worked out the way they did. Amar'e was the right guy for this team and this city. I felt that as soon as we gave Mike a PG that could push the pace and make good passes this team would go to another level. I was irked by the poor play of Felton early on but i'm glad he kept working with Amar'e and they've got great chemistry now. For the last 2 years we kept begging for a PG that could actually play the position the right way. Thank you Donnie. Remember how frustrated we were with Duhon cuz he'd have an open lane and refused to drive or he'd have an open court ahead and wouldn't run, or he'd have his man in front of him and would just let him go by... Felton is a Godsend cuz I don't know if I could've taken another year of bad PG play.

Ditto...I have to admit I killed Donnie for this trade and still would not have done it.. Bottom line is Amare is better than expected and Felton is playing out of this world..Have to say my optimism is still guarded with this coach...I still thinks defense wins in this league but it's good to see this team be competitive... Go Knicks..

Signing Raymond Felton is starting to feel like we really DID sign a second MAX player. Felton is playing like an All-NBA PG.

Derozan was my #1 choice... if we had taken him i would have been ecstatic, but even then i'm still not sure he would have gotten playing time last year... i'm still bothered by how Jordan Hill was handled & i really expected him to get more of a look during a season where we weren't really contending for anything, but at this point now that we have a real leader like Felton in the fold, i'm putting that whole chapter behind me... Donnie deserves props for making that tough call on the TMac trade & he took plenty of grief over it... it seems to have worked out well for this franchise.

i still have my reservations about MDA too & i agree that defense wins... at least we're seeing a drastic improvement in that department this year in terms of shotblocking... i have to give Donnie a lot of credit for bringing in Turiaf who has really made a big impact as well, even though he's only a role player... & with Amare's improved shotblocking & defensive intensity i guess MDA deserves some credit in that department as well.

well i gotta give it to u for having faith the whole time that it would work out well... after years of being let down i was at a low point in my faith in this team to get something right, but seems like they finally have made some moves to get this team headed in the right direction... now if we can only get Melo into the fold so i can prove all the Melo haters to man up!

Say no mo'.

I've been saying the same thing, re Derek Harper. Reminds me of Derek a lot. Great steady leader, plays well on both sides of the ball, and clutch. Love it.

And even better than Derek, Felton's best years are ahead of him.

Derek Harper was 6'4" and not as quick as Raymond Felton. I think Felton reminds me of Tim Hardaway.

tim hardaway had an uncanny ability to hit clutch shots over and over and over for years....lots of them against the knicks.

haha be prepared to see melo in new york! brooklyn new york.

im starting to be ok with that, frankly i want to see the new brooklyn team start off well, be good for local new york bball talk.

it will be a tough call for walsh to overpay in talent when the talent we got is winning. king will overpay, he has to-- melo will be his crowning achievement to bring to new york. plus melo is no fool he will sign a (lucrative) nets extension if traded.

if Melo ends up a Net then i'll have no problem whatsoever putting him on my **** list right next to Lebron... whatever Donnie decides to do at this point i'll just trust in his judgement... he's proven to me more often than not that he's been making good decisions w/this franchise since he took over... a few decisions you still question like the Jordan Hill pick, but whatever... right now this team is looking good so i have no complaints... but if we pass on Melo & he ends up beasting in Brooklyn... or if Melo should someday hit a game winning shot to eliminate us from a huge must win game, i'm gonna blame a lot of the people on this thread... & that i cannot forgive.
