Lets say we are able to pick up a player thru a trade or sign and trade.

Forget who and the price.

One has to go for what ever reason.

Which one do you keep?

Gallo (communities choice)
Wilson (Shy Willie)

Gallo, because hot chics like him better and I'd rather sit near one of them than the skanks who would like Ill Wil.

Melo kind of makes Gallo redundant. Wilson can do a whole bunch of things but I would probably still want to hold on to Gallo, I have an obvious bias in this.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Wilson has the more well rounded skillset, but Gallo would be MDA's choice w/o a doubt... i think both are worth holding onto but it all depends on the player that's coming in to replace them in the rotation... if we're talking about Melo, i'd probably choose to keep Gallo right now, because his skillset is more complementary to Melo's game (especially if we're also keeping AR, who can bring a lot of what Wilson brought w/his shotblocking & rebounding ability)... Melo works in the midrange game & having a perimeter shooting threat to complement his game would probably be a better fit in this offense... if we're getting a bigman like Gasol this summer, then i think we'd be better off keeping Wilson C.

agreed. Imo Will is the superior and more consistent player. When Gallo's offense is (excuse the pun) offensive, the rest of his game tends to suffer (more often than not.) When Will is off he will still rebound, defend and block shots. He needs to improve at getting to the line (something Gallo is definitely better at) considering he tends to slash to the basket more than Gallo.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Picking Gallo as he's a year younger and still on his rookie deal.

Chandler has definitely taken a step forward this year when I thought he was what he was- a nice role player.

I still think Gallo can be a star, and potentially better than Chandler.

I really love how well the tandem is playing together, but I agree. I think Gallo has a bit more upside and I also think Melo or not he's more important because he forces defense into space.

there are things i like about gallop's game but he's still too inconsistent and gimmicky to me.

i'd take will if we had to choose at this point. he’s becoming more and more of a consistent force in the game. “will the thrill" has become "exerts his will."

but i'd be extremely happy to keep them both. and i still have big faith that ar is going to become a monster for this team. with those 3 wilding along with amare and rayray, throw in fields, td, turiaf, shane and a growing timo, i'm feeling GOOD about our lads.

Gallo. He is showing this year why the Knicks were so high on him. Chandler has had his moments for sure, but at times plays like he is just high. Too passive.

If we end up trading for melo by the trade deadline i believe keeping gallo would make more sense being that his game is so similar to melo. As much as i like will, i imagine he demands significantly more money next year so trading him for a perrenial allstar would be my ideal choice. Gallo is a better passer and seems to understand the system better than will, would be nice to have both though, we'll see how important these two are in the playoffs assuming there still here by then.

Gallinari over Chandler because he is simply a smarter player on the court.

Well, I voted for Wilson by accident.

Agreed, Gallo makes better decisions on the court and is productive even when not shooting well. His ability to get to the line is big in tight games down the stretch. Wilson is the much stronger slasher and finisher at the basket, and bigger overall defensive presence, but Gallo is also reasonably capable on defense. Melo does everything that Chandler does offensively but much better. On the other hand Melo can't give you the outside shot like Gallo. Gallo is still a work in progress, and far from reliable, but you keep him over Chandler, especially in a Melo trade.

The fact that Chandler didn't do much until a contract year is worrisome. I'm much less excited about him than others here are.

I wouldn't trade either guy. I just think they both are doing a very good job and can be even better. Gallo hasn't even hit his stride yet this year. I fully expect there to be a time where he's just on fire and in great rhythm. Chan has settled into a comfort zone and only does things he knows he can do. That's been great for us. He's been killing those corner 3's and driving successfully. Chan is a good defender as well. I just don't see a reason to move either guy at this point. I can understand that we will likely have to do it if we make a deal for Melo, but I'd do it begrudgingly. I'd rather play out this season and get Melo in the summer(Living on Fantasy Island as I do).

Wilson will be gone this summer if we sign Melo... his contract will have to come off the books to make room for a Melo deal.

I root not only for the team to win but for each of these guys to do well. I like Shy Wil and Gallo and prefer to keep both with the thought they get better and we spend Eddies cap on a big and give Wilson his money and go over the cap that way.
