If Chris Broussard is saying the one place Lebron should have gone to be a title contender is New York... where do you think Carmelo Anthony is thinking about going - given he plays the same position as Lebron?

.............good point, but not in a value to value trade. He either comes via free agency or Denver relents to get some value and we give them some save face value.

Im not saying im in favor of one vs another, but its fun to think of melo on this team, not one that does not 2-3 core role players.

I'd like to think Melo buys into the system even if he loses stats. everyone gets easy shots when it opens up.

I'd like to think Melo can make Gallo better. Or Wilson better. Or Fields better and of course AMare better.

Im a fan. I know Melo is better than anyone besides Amare, but bringing in Talent in exchange for talent is not always a plus situation. Be better if he came aboard a team with a chemeistry. Felton and Amare are the Alpha dogs and Melo would have to earn his stripes. Its healthier than Starphuching which annoints the players status before he has earned it.

If no Melo we got lots of options to both improve internally and cap to bring in. ALso we have assets to sign and trade with.

In Donnie we trust.

If Melo came here via free agency and all of a sudden you had Wilson and Gallo off your bench??? That's a scary line-up

Fields would be coming off the bench and Gallo would be the starting SG. You have to keep your best shooter in the lineup. It would be ideal to have that depth no question about it.

i really dont think its an, if melo to ny. there is no melo "decision" melo is clear, he is coming to ny.

only thing that can fug this up is a bad negotiation. example, if its a trade and denver wants too much or a signing and melo's agent gets too greedy.

and if denver is dumb enough to trade melo to another team, that team will either try to make a trade itself with ny or lose melo to fa.

the real is-- which ny team will melo be playing for? thats the only question in my book.

can't happen... in order to have the cap space to sign Melo we'd have to let Wilson walk to free up the cap dollars... if we re-sign Wilson too then we'd have to dump Gallo & someone else's contract to make room under the cap for Melo's contract.

i know right, thats why i talk about trading wilson, its not that i want to lose wilson (hell nah!) its a numbers game. to wilson's credit he has made himself hella valueable. to keep wilson, knicks would need a three/four team trade going on that involves trading gallo for melo. since i just dont see a straight up trade happening.

Wilson's my favorite player on this team, but we gotta let go of sentimentality here & consider the longterm benefits of acquiring a bonafide star player to play alongside Amare... we're looking at losing him either way if we trade for Melo or he signs here as a FA... there's no way the Knicks will pass up an opportunity to sign Melo if he wants to come here, so basically Wilson is pretty much the odd man out in any scenario... sucks that we have to lose a talented guy like that but we gotta face facts here.

THIS. CB mocked us and laughed at us for having even considered the possibility of Lebron coming here, now he wants to kiss and make up? Phuck Broussard.

It is what it is. Finally, the Knicks are getting a little respect. We have a solid team. I'm not embarassed to be a fan of the team right now. LeBron on the Knicks would've been great, but it's too late for that.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

For all he does He does not mug, scream or carry on when he is kicking ass. Net game was a bit different but there could have been some smack talk on the court.

He is all business and supportive of the Yoots.

I was concerned about his defense but he has stepped it up. He does get out of the way if its a lost cause rather than foul. Dlee did this more but these guys are more valuable on the court and need fouls to give during crunch time.

I do worry he is doing too much, but he embraced NY and his big contract. He is being a professional accepting his role and the pressure that comes with the money. He is being a man among peers.

this really nails it... he's not just a star player, but he "gets" our situation. He knows he needs Gallo and Chandler and Fields etc to play well and he gets behind them. He cheers on the bench (at least for the 2 minute rest MDA gives him). Most of all he's beastly and plays like a true leader. I will never forget the moment I soured on Marbury. I liked Steph at first. It was one play, Marbury got beat badly off the dribble and gave up a layup. Nazr (who had just come off a 20pt 20reb game) was slow to help and Marbury scowled at Nazr like it was his fault. Then froze him out rest of game.

yea, marbury was king of the scowl.. his idea of a leader was someone who led in points and domianted the ball... He had no clue.. so much goes into being a leader.. amare came to NY, took the bull by the horns and didn't look back? he wanted the challenge and I admire that..
