Gallo's modesty just says "I want to let my play do the talking, I'm not there yet but I'm getting there." Also if you read between the lines, he also means winning is more important than stats.

We are all witnesses.

Knicks are happening and have a Unicorn.

Did anyone see the interview he had? I don't even remember where I saw this, but I could have swore it's the same interview, he was actually saying how he knows he's the franchise player because he needs to bring it offensively for the team to win, but he is not saying hes a superstar, but rather that it is important for him to be good for the team to win.

Is it really a no look? or is it a look-everywhere pass.

It's very clear that when Gallo is playing his A game we're a much better team. He should think he's an important part of the Knicks, because he is.

Gallo knows he is important, and I'm sure he's not been happy with some of the criticism he's had thrown at him...he's just playing the humble athlete role which many of the better players take on when being interviewed.

How to be the humble athlete when interviewed:

1) Try to use "we" more than "I."

2) Always point out that you are only one player on a TEAM, and that success comes from teamwork.

3) Give as much credit as you can to other players for any success you (or the team) have.

4) Related to #3- be sure to mention as many of your teammates by name as you can when looking at your team's success.

5) Always indicate that there are things you can improve in your game.

6) Related to #5- You are allowed to blame yourself for a loss...you cannot give credit to yourself for a win.

People should feel free to add to this.

So after six breakthrough quarters, in which he looked very much like a potential star, the 22-year-old Gallinari swiftly punctured the notion of his stardom.

“I know you expect a lot from me, and people expect a lot from me,” Gallinari said late Wednesday night, “but I’m not a superstar, I’m not an All-Star, I’m not LeBron, I’m not those great players. I’m an important player of the Knicks. And that’s what I’m trying to do, to help the team every time. Sometimes, can be these type of games, sometimes not. But as long as we win, it’s all good.”

D’Antoni interpreted Gallinari’s remarks as overstated modesty.

“He’s very secure in who he is and he’s very confident,” D’Antoni said. “He can tell you one thing, but he may think another. But I think he knows he has a lot of work to do to get where those guys are. He’s not up there. I don’t think that says he can’t get there, he’s just not them yet.”

Seriously Gallo have some self confidence dam.

Or maybe it was a good response from someone who has yet to even smell allstrar status

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

"I was just trying to help the team in moments the team needs me," said Gallinari, who averaged 26 points during the four-game trip. "The fourth quarter is the most important part of the game."

Love the progress Gallo's making this season. I think Captain Jack, the same guy who gave Dirk a tough time in that epic Warriors/Mavs playoff series, does a much better job on Gallo than whoever the Clips, Warriors and Kings put on him...
Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

8) Always refer to how great a job of preparation the coaching staff does in getting you ready for each and every game.

9) Talk about how much time you spend reviewing tape, trying to improve any weaknesses in your game.
