franco12 - there is no such as thing as "teams we should beat" any more than games are marked down as guaranteed losses. That "teams we should beat" thing is for bookies and the guys who give them their hard-earned cash. "Teams we should beat" is more about fantasy leagues, point spreads and predictions, and much LESS about HOW a game is played.

There is no such thing as a winnable game. Was Miami a winnable game for Memphis last night? Of course not. You plays 'em one at a time and look for positive indications the roster is making better music.

It was not the six game losing streak that bugged The Answer Man. It was the strategic deployment of resources. It was the forced and frequent three point shots.

Enough with looking down the road and attempting to drive the cart before the horses get in step. Going into the next game against Charlotte, it is a pleasure to say our boys just finished a west coast swing against ANY set of teams at 3-1. If you need to demean the competition, then demean their asses. The Clippers were who we THOUGHT they were. That's why we took the court... and we DIDN'T let them off the hook!"

The Answer Man plays 'em one at a time.

It was great seeing Amare answer Griffin's dunks. We haven't had anyone who could really represent the Knicks since Spree. This team fought back like I haven't seen in some time. Hope they can keep this up.

For real, Amar'e made me feel some faint twinges of pride again. But we need to figure out how to limit people like Griffin from going ape**** on us.

I'm going more with what Misterearl said over Franco12. We just can't say things like "we should win that game" and for a variety of reasons. One, we have a newly assembled team and it will take us some time to play with eachother, as we've seen. Look at Miami, yeah our bench is better than theirs, but it's taking them time none the less. Second, what about the teams that we played well against? Should we not have? Chicago, Boston, Portland and Denver come to mind. What is important is how we are playing.

We are playing much more cohesively. I do hope that defense we saw early in the season returns as we can't rely on such hot shooting all the time.

In Franco12's defense I will add this, why the hell do players always set records and have career nights against us? Clearly we have a ways to go, but I would like to see this team get through a season together. As it is we can make the playoffs. As long as we don't give Houston a substantially higher pick in a swap I'm fine with growing this team this year. As it looks they might not be swapping with us.

Limiting second opportunities I think would help us in that department. So many times we make the initial block or cause a miss(and its a very encouraging sign), but we don't get a stop because they get a second opportunity. If we can box out even better after a blocked shot- our D will improve even more.
