Yeah the defense Mike has implemented is working. I thought some of the defenses he ran in the past were gimmicks, but this is a legit defense. Very good ball movement can beat us, but we stop initial penetrators and usually guard the 2nd and 3rd options pretty well. One weakness has been big guys with range. When guards drive baseline, the help comes too early and power forwards are left wide open for 15-18 footers. Then when Amare or whoever the help defender tries to get back to his man, the guard still thinks he has help and gets burned.

Propose here that the intent of the defense is to create the turnover. The blocks come as the help rotates over. Doing well in both helps our lack of rebounding. The lack of rebounding was hurting us in the 4th of the Charlotte game since they were moving the ball better. Those blocks by Stat were big. Mozgov had 3 in limited minutes too. Chandler and Gallo have helped here as well. It's a long team and they have speed.

Felton is pushing the pace now. I like it.

Bill Simmons on Tyreke Evans "The prototypical 0-guard: Someone who handles the ball all the time, looks for his own shot, gets to the rim at will and operates best if his teammates spread the floor to watch him."
