![]() Vmart wrote:Nalod wrote: I take exception to people saying he doesnt owe anyone anything. The whole arena of sport is based around the fans. The stars would in fact be nothing without the fans. Its laughable to suggest that LeBron owes nothing to them. Without them he would just be an inordinately large man living in Akron Ohio. Every paycheck he ever received, from his team, from his shoe company and from his sponsors is all down to the fans. In fact he owes EVERYTHING to the fans. To disrespect an enormous fanbase to the extent that LeBron did is despicable. Every fan in every city loved LeBron because he was fun to watch, he made a spectacle of the sport (in a good way) and he reminded them of how beautiful the game can be when played to its upper limits. And he spat in their faces. Took them for granted and made them watch while his ego ate him alive on national television. He forgot who the really important people are in sport and thats the fans. In todays day and age everyone understands that to some extent sport is a business and stars will do things to maximise their earning. Fans will (most of the time) accept players leaving, players fighting and management behaving like pigs in a trough because nowadays there must be a degree of pragmatism in following any sport or team. But what LeBron did was much much worse. And this ad just makes it even worse. He still doesnt get that hes not the important one. That all his work in the gym and on the court are in repayment for the love or at least respect millions of fans give him. His question in this ad shows such simpleminded arrogance its breathtaking. What do we want from him? We want him to respect us. To give us what we as a fan group pay billions for. And yeah, we know youll sometimes do things we dont like. All we ask is that in those moments, do it with some class and style. Thank the Cleveland fans. Tell them they will always have a place in your heart. Tell them what a tough decision it was to make. Make it quick and painless and the pragmatist in all of us would recognize that sometimes thats just the way it goes. But to make us wait for it and then watch it for an hour while you strung along all the imploring executives on their knees? Thats the act of a man who thinks hes bigger than his team, his sport and most importantly his fans. And thats why Ill always hate him. Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream things that never were and ask why not?

![]() Seems he keeps apologizing for "The Decision" but not the core hurt he caused those that "witnessed" his rise. Thats what bothers me. I realize players get resentful of how many pounds of flesh they have to fork over to be in the public eye but he is self annointed and clearly not really up to being it. Its ok for him to say he has matured and the same things he thought was important a few years ago is not a priority. I watched the game last nite. The dude can play. Thats for sure! |

I care about how my team made itself worse to have a shot at this guy, when all along he knew he was going to Miami. lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Maybe IM naive but I think Knicks did have a shot. Regarding that we were manipulated in some way, Lets just say nobody put a gun to Donnies head and made him clear the cap for him. It sucks, but its business. |

![]() Lebron can make all the commercials he wants. Thank God we won't have to listen to any conversations on whether he can hold MJ's jockstrap. He's just a kid who wanted to play on the same team as his friends and hopefully get an easy championship.
Def. not anything close to being in the G.O.A.T conversation anymore Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

![]() I just saw the commercial- 93BUICK behind the times as usual- but I couldn't even read your responses because I didn't want to have it color what I wanted to say:
I'm down with the message of that 100 percent and it should apply to everyone in public life. Men should have choice and not be pawns of others. He didn't do anything other than annoy our form of entertainment. No crime, no lies. I'm ashamed at myself for thinking otherwise at all, in any athlete, or entertainer's situation. If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

Just win and keep getting MVPs, because at the end of the day he'll have as many ASTERISKS next to titles as Bird, Magic, Kobe, Shaq, Kareem, Wilt, West, Oscar, Clyde, Pearl, ect. "Really, all Americans want is a cold beer, warm p***y, and some place to s**t with a door on it." - Mr. Ford

I never wanted him as a Knick despite his talents....always said he was more of a west coast guy. Believe what you want but I have always been consistent here regarding Lebron. Like I said, you don't have to believe but you can always go back and check old posts. I'm oldschool and I'm more interested in a team like OKC and a guy like Durant who "gets" it. Lebron would have embarrassed me as a Knick no matter what the record. ![]() The ad is great from Nike's perspective gets them what they need -- publicity.
For Lebron it may not be such a great idea, playing the victim is certainly not a new idea - think Stephon Marbury etc. But he has taken it to new level by making an ad for it. He is increasingly putting himself in a polarizing position. All he had to do was play basketball, win multiple chips and rule the world, all he has done is run his mouth. TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

![]() He thinks his decision was important enough to be made into an hour special- arrogant
He also admitted that he is not good enough to man his own team like Mike.- looking for an easy way out Now he approved a public message that not only explains that it wasn't really his decision to make (" was i supposed to not listen to my friends?")- can't stand up for his actions Putting a guilt trip on his fans through a Mike commercial- priceless Everything you have ever wanted is on the other side of fear- George Adair
