He has some driving ability. But he is just an awful passer. All you have to do is bring over a weakside defender and he'll either make a terrible kick out pass or throw up a wild layup. If he improves his decision making and passing he can become a complete player.

What actually makes the whole thing so frustrating is that, he can actually do way more than just shoot 3s.

I would make a bet that out of the last 100 times Gallo DECIDED to drive the ball, 85 times something positive happened.. If not more.

The guy has a knack for drawing fouls, a nice touch around the basket and a decent handle.

The problem is in his head, he thinks he's going to make every shot so he just settles. This is where leadership comes in, I really hope Amare or Felton get in his ear about taking it to the hole... It's just a decision Gallo has to make, it's not about ability it's just about mindset. This is where coaching and leadership really become crucial to team success...

Not going over board yet, but hopefully this issue is addressed cuz IMO its vital to our success.

Danillo looked like he partied way into the night--he was drop dead tired--he wasnt into it. We have had VERY poor PG play for most of the two games and I don't think RT should be in the starting lineup. We can say we led 20-5 or whatever but the first 5 minutes doesnt tell the tale of their size versus ours.

Guys, the fellas were IN PARIS! You gotta believe they were partying. Paris is one of the funnest and most interesting cities in the world. For most of these guys it was probably their first trip there (save Rony). They were definitely tired, not just from late nights, but from jet lag and tons of traveling and sight seeing.

They will be fine. And Gallo is looking like one of our best defenders already. He's going to have a breakout season.

Gallo is in a season long slump that now encompasses 50% of the total games played!!!!!

Time to bench him? Cut an run and get some value for him? Maybe we need to hire a new shooting coach? some one like Mike Glenn or Ticky Burdan?

Maybe he is allergic to Nutella Crepe's?

Nalod's really on a roll in this thread. Too funny, Nutella Crepes are mighty tasty!

Guys are still figuring each other out and besides Amare we are not sure who is gonna step their game up. We have been patient for 10 very long years. We can wait a lil while longer. Landry Fields will be a player in the NBA.

You Know the Knicks fans. After 2 or three bad games throw him under the bus. I like this team but maybe we are just not what we think we are. So far we ain't got no shooters for Mikes system. The only thing that Mike D should be positive about is a usual no defense.

GEEZ! Have you guys forgotten what it's like to play tired? You can be out there a lot longer if you settle for jumpers than if you're driving and banging in the post. I think this guy was stretched a bit to thin with all the partying. This whole trip was one big trip home to hang with friends and family. The whole team has been doing all kinds of NBA promotion engagements and crap.

I do agree that Gallo needs to do more than just shoot, but he also knows this or else they wouldn't have focused on Driving and Posting up this summer. We need to be a bit more patient and see how things develop over time. This Euro trip seems to be the wrong time to make any serious assessments.

I agree. If they are working on this it must be during the morning practice sessions because I didn't see it in their televised 'afternoon' practice.

We may never see Gallo Drive, Drive, Drive, tho I agree it would be good to do that in Pre Season, to really perfect it. I think it's still a bit too early to sound the alarm, tho there naturally some concern about it. We have to keep in mind that this team has so far to go in terms of chemistry and flow on the court that it may not be so easy to just go hard to the hole when guys are in the way due to poor spacing. We can't even run a decent half court set, or PnR yet. I saw a few times when Gallo did drive it was a good result, but I reserve criticism this early on.

I think you guy's are missing the point....gallo is sent out there to jack 3's up at will, as a matter of fact, MDA encourages him..if you watch "365" he personally said gallo is going to be shooting way more 3's then last year. Of course it's up to the player to make the decision..but if the coach ask you to shoot 3's if there open, what are you to do..

It's a offense that requires a point guard with a high IQ, it's that simple. Any success we had or have, will be always base on our pg....Look at our wins last season, then look at the PG stats. we have great athletes, solid shooters, and a lot of upside, but from what i have witness from day one with MDA, his team will shoot a lot of 3's, and needs a pg to guide them..

Felton's control of the game, his communication (to gallo) and the rest of the team, creating mis matches, and the abilty to set a PnR from anywhere on the court (not just the top of the 3 pt line) is what matter's the most

The rebound issue..please, we finsh 24th last year with david lee avg 11..amare avg 9, the slack shouldn't be that much to make up +.. Two a days for a wk, then fly cross country, with president gallo, and MDA..Your energy and effort will not be there for a preseason game....
