Since he has no value, other than being an expiring contract, and it is doubtful that Donnie would take on (or even find) a multiple year contract equal to Curry's of a player we might want to keep beyond this season, Curry's injury means nothing, except making the flight to Italy a lot safer without his added weight...

...But there is still something in me which wishes that he had come into camp in the kind of shape which showed people he cared about himself, the sport, and honoring his contract. The thing which upsets me the most, perhaps, is the guy's lack of pride, and his recognition of how lucky he is to have found the only profession that would have given him more than a minimum wage job.

Wow Game, well done. You even got the injury duration down. Got any stock picks Briggs hasn't told us about yet?

If you go back and look at the picks given up in the sign and trade to get Curry, and then factor in the contract he was given it is just insane to think that last month Dolan was trying to bring Isiah back. Also, the Curry trade might be one of the best examples of why you don't give another team the opportunity to switch draft positions in a trade.

Curry is everything that's wrong with the NBA and professional sports. He is Albert Haynesworth if Albert had never accomplished anything.

The NBA would be ten times as popular if you could even cut half of a guy's salary for pulling this crap.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

All right I'm gonna play the have a heart card. I'm all for goofing on eddy as a knick and a basketball player and posting pics of him with giant hamburgers and big mamas and giant kamalas and jabbas, but all you gotta do is look at the pictures of him from training camp to see that he's not a well person. That is one struggling human being, badly and publically. I do think the poor bastard ia done as a basketball player but jesus I hope he's not done with life. I hope he can get somewhere where he can get some breakthroughs about his life and move in a healthy direction. I've read that the knicks have sent him to therapy but I wonder what that's really been about.

So anyway. Bye-bye as a knick eddy curry but man I really do hope you get your s##t together.

It is sad to see, but he has no one to blame but himself. There are millions of people working two different jobs trying to balance their daily budget and put food on the table fat lazy slobs like Curry deserve zero consideration. Its bad enough we pay these idiots millions of dollars and then we get nothing to show for it but if you add how some of them just keep playing the victim, it just becomes a little too much. Eddy Curry can rot in hell.

I'm with Marv- I think the house break in and the Girlfriend/murder/baby dying - that's more **** than most people deal with ever. hell on earth. He ****ed up his career and his life- I don't wish that on people.
I don't care that he has 50 million dollars of Dolan's money. Dolan was dumb to give it to him, just like I was dumb to give Dolan 24 dollars for 2 double margaritas in plastic cups that lite up when you drink them. (Still have yours, Martin?}
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

Well said Marv...Nobody's been more upset with this dude than me, but I do feel bad for him for a lot that's happened--most of the big stuff was beyond his control (the push-in robbery at his home, the death of his child and the child's mother [and to think one of his other children was there to witness it--that's so horrible ], the whole ordeal with that money-hungry leech of a limo driver who was supposed to be his friend, the arrest warrants)...Some of this stuff is beyond traumatizing to say the least..Everyone runs into a string of bad luck in their lives from time to time but I can't even imagine going through some of what this guy's has had endure..You just figure that at some point he would've completely bottomed out and found it within himself to climb outta this gigantic hole he's dug himself. Hasn't happened and I gotta question now whether it ever will...I think you're right Marv, this guy seriously may not be well mentally..I know Mike and Donnie are probably done with him but for the good of this man's future as a human being, the organization should seriously consider approaching him about getting some help..And do it discreetly---no need for the fans or the media to even know anything about it, in fact it'd be better if we didn't. You can argue that the organization doesn't owe him anything and you'd be right but at this point you really gotta step back and see that this man simply isn't right and needs help..I think the Knicks should do it for him--they could be saving his life. Say whatever you want about the NY Yankees and esp. George Steinbrenner but I know for a fact that George would've taken everything that's happened to him recently into consideration -- if this guy was a Yankee under big Stein, I betcha George would've gotten this man some help by now. You know he won't seek out help himself, someone's gonna have to intervene here sooner than later..Forget his career which I think has been over for some time, I don't think I've ever seen a guy just piss his entire LIFE away the way this guy has. Sad man, it really is.

I do feel bad for Eddy Curry as a person, though I find him really frustrating as a basketball player. But I'm not sure how much personal issues are to blame- he was overweight and getting fatter before all that stuff happened- it's just you can get away with it when you're younger without getting injured, where as now he pays the price. I think last year when he did lose all that weight and he still didn't play/got injured, maybe he thought 'whats the point'. He obviously hates D'Antoni and doesn't want to be in New York, so I suspect thats why he didn't start working out with the rest of the team a month ago.

I get p***ed off with him because every year I hoped he'd turn things around (even this year!) and actually turn up to camp in shape and have a good year, and every year he's blown it. Now he's probably going to go bankrupt and his life's going to get even tougher- it's a sad end for him.

Well the hammy has him out 4-6 weeks as stated above. It might be a good thing, we arent going to get anything for Curry at this point, its his contract that has value.

Sure it would have been nice if he could come back and be effective, it would definitely help. But he is not in the long term plans of the organization so we need to ship him out and move on. After this season he will become a distant memory.

Best of luck with his personal issues and family - but we have bigger and better things to focus our time on.

Well said, we should have a heart and cut him some slack...

But why does he keep lying to himself and us about playing this game?

Would be great if he said he could no longer play the game because of obvious reasons...

Had enough Melo?
