I'm in no way an advocate for beating or hitting woman, but if a chic is kicking me, spitting in my face, swinging at me, trying to scratch my eyes out, i may give her a good shove. I'm sure he wasn't trying to hurt her much, she just happen to be at the top of the stairs when the shoving occured.

Just looking at how it may have happen

I love how everyone is playing the instant replay. Were you there? Have you spoken to anyone involved?
"I'm sure"
Are you? How are you sure?

No i wasn't there, notice i said may, we all know how stories are never acurate in the papers. I'm not giving him a pass or anything, but there are just as many woman in jail for assault, as there are men, probably more .

My cuz is a Correction Officer, one of my best friends is a cop. Dude, the stories they tell me about domestic disputes, woman totally out weigh the men in these cases. It doesn't get reported as much cause most men don't press charges. Usually it's because there to macho, the media doesn't think a man getting physical abuse by a woman is not note worthy, so these stories get swept under the carpet.

You think if he was the one that got shoved down the steps by his GF, he would have called the cops, especially if the injuries was as minor as her's was.

Say What?

knicks1248 - "All I know is there's two side's to every story, but society only wants to here the child or the womans side."

Society?

WTF are you talking about dude? The woman got pushed down a flight of stairs and you're more concerned with the accused than the victim?

knicks1248 - " I'm sure he wasn't trying to hurt her much, she just happen to be at the top of the stairs when the shoving occured."

Naw, not too much. He just wanted to break a few bones to set her straight so she would behave.

Manly man stuff, right?

If it happened like the article says it happened, he should be suspended for at least 3 months. That is just ridiculous. I was disappointed with the Knicks not drafting this guy, but now it looks like it might have been a good decision. I absolutely love Fields, so not getting Stephson is not a big deal.

There is no excuse for striking a woman or pushing her down the stairs. Especially if it's your baby's momma. I grew up in the projects in Brooklyn and to this day I have never struck a woman or pushed her down a flight of stairs, so the "culture" argument is flawed. And people should know the difference between right and wrong at 19. You can vote, you can die for the country, and you can have sex legally.

Either way I was upset we didn't draft him, and now I am happy we didn't.

There is not a man alive who has not thought about hitting his woman, but most of us have the self-control not too, and we certainly would not push her down a flight of stairs.

Andy Rautins is playing with Team Canada in the international tourament.

Lance is playing "Baby Momma Stair toss" at 5am.

IM sure Lance is working on his game. Working people get up at 5am.

Like Marv Said let due process work itself thru.

Its gonna go away cuz Lance needs to support his family and he can't with felony.

So the truth won't be known.

But if you gonna really do this right, the only reason its a story is cuz Lance if a pro athlete.

I hear you. There probably is more domestic violence committed against men, but (1) men usually f-up in some way by cheating or doing something else they shouldn't be doing and (2) a woman's reaction to her emotional pain tends to be the infliction of physical pain on the man. I don't know the number of times some woman has hit me. I was not hurt, but if I had done it to her, I would have been in jail for domestic violence. It is a double standard. That being said, there is no excuse for pushing a woman down some stairs.

If a (cough) chick is kicking you, spitting in your face, swinging at you, trying to scratch your eyes out - you may want to re-evaluate, and change, your criteria for prime chick selection

Did she reach over and open the driver side door lock for you to get in the car?

Now why would a woman be kicking, spitting, swinging, or trying to scratch a guy? Hmmmmmm...

Lance is also about 6'5" and 230+ lbs,- he would have little trouble defending himself against most women.

Again- you are not taking into consideration that he was accused of sexually abusing a girl in HS. This is not an isolated incident, and you wonder about others which may have been swept under this or that carpet.

Following his arrest yesterday, Stephenson met with his agent, Alberto Ebanks, Packer said. Ebanks represented the troubled star in his 2008 arrest, which was resolved when he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct.

I also find it interesting that he was represented by an agent in the sexual abuse case BEFORE he played at Cincy.

No matter how Lance turns out to be as a player, passing by him when we made our picks was a wise move by Walsh. There is no telling what problems he would get into if he was living in NYC with his "friends" and the other temptations the city has to offer.

No man is happy without a delusion of some kind. Delusions are as necessary to our happiness as realities- C.N. Bovee

It appears Ebanks is a lawyer, who is now also working as his agent.

more details arising..

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/08/16/lance-stephenson-arrested_n_683356.html

NEW YORK — Indiana Pacers draft pick Lance Stephenson, after pushing his girlfriend down a flight of stairs, grabbed her and hit her head on the bottom step, prosecutors said Monday.

A judge released Stephenson, 19, without bail late Sunday night after his arrest on assault, menacing and harassment charges. Prosecutors had asked for $7,500 bail.

Authorities say the confrontation occurred around 5 a.m. Sunday when the victim, Jasmine Williams, was returning home to her apartment building with two friends. Witnesses said Stephenson was waiting for her and yelled, "Are you kidding me?" before pushing her down the stairs.

A criminal complaint provided Monday by the Brooklyn district attorney's office said that as Williams lay at the bottom of the stairs, Stephenson picked up her head and slammed it on the bottom step.

When police arrived, Stephenson told them the woman had fallen down the stairs, prosecutors said. The complaint said Williams suffered head and back wounds, and possible damage to her neck.

Pacers president Larry Bird has said he was aware of the situation. Stephenson attorney Alberto Ebanks didn't return phone and e-mail messages Monday.

Stephenson was one of the nation's top high school prospects. He played one season at Cincinnati before applying for early entry to the NBA draft.

Maybe she had a gun, and he wanted to make sure she didn't come out of her daze and blast his ass away.. so he slamed her head a good two more times so she could have another 2 mins of unconsiousness..IDK..

But for real folks, what he did was ridiculous, i'm not sure what promoted his actions, but there really isn't a logical explanation for hitting a woman unless your life is in jeapordy. then you have to defend yours.
