And to think we thought he was only obtainable if you took OK4's contract- good job we aren't GM of the Knicks! Great deal for the Pacers, amazingly stupid move for the Hornets- they should have kept Collinson as insurance in case they lose CP- or at least got a much better player than Ariza. Good move for Rockets too. I don't understand the trade at all from the Nets perspective- wouldn't of minded Murphy as a one season back up on our team though (only for his shooting and rebounding- I'd only of offered Curry)- don't see how he fits into the Nets plans.I don't know- there must be more to this trade, surely- it doesn't make that much sense as it stands.
Yeah, giving up Collison for Ariza is just a bad trade. If that is all it took, we should have offered Chandler (who IMO is a better player than Ariza and is younger). NO should have at least have gotten a draft pick out of the deal.
It was Collison AND
Posey for Ariza. Posey's salary at $6.4 mil this year and $6.9 next year vs Ariza's salary $6.3 this year and then incremental raise for the next 3 years. Ariza is only 25 years old and New Orleans has him for 4 years. He should be a good fit with Chris Paul, West, Okafor. Then New Orleans needed a SG and added Marco Bellino as a back-up SG. So NO is trying to put a team around Chris Paul to keep him happy.
The difference between fiction and reality? Fiction has to make sense.
