I'm curious to know why there are people saying European players are more fundamentally sound than American players? If so, then how do the American players get to be that much more talented? If European players are better fundamentally, then how is your coaching better? It also seems to me that team USA usually is considerably more athletically gifted than almost all other teams.
Which leads me to my next question, and I may offend some people, but from some of the American players whom I've played with in my club, I've learned that most of them didn't have the same view upon using perfomance enhancing drugs as we did. They spoke about it in a light fashion, as if it wasn't unfamiliar or taboo for that matter - and we've had guys from different programs and places in the states. Over here we've had drug tests with the national teams from the ages 13 and up. And none of us had ever seriously considered using drugs for basketball purposes and we all looked down upon doing such. So could the difference have anything to do with stars turning in to megastars because of juicing? I'm not saying you guys are, but the possibility is there and I think it deserves consideration.
I'm just wondering why the difference is like it is.. and I'm honestly not trying to generalize the American basketball culture - just wondering
