Anyone else have a problem with all the pro Isiah-coming-back-to-the-Knicks talk last night to leadoff the show?? Esp. from Alan Hahn -- I mean Jesus, what was this guy asleep throughout the IT dark years?? How soon he forgets. Dude's been the beat writer for this team for awhile now. He should know better..I don't even think it's that -- I think it's more a thing where this guy's hands are absolutely tied when it comes to commenting on anything controversal involving Jimmy Dolan...Consider what we're forced to read at the end of every Knicks article in Newsday: "...Newsday which is owned by cablevision, which is owned by MSG and the Dolan family" or some such nonsense..OK, OK. We get it already -- Jimmy runs the newspaper too...Hahn's position is clearly compromised -- his job should really be all about remaining impartial on anything Knicks, even if there's controversy surrounding Dolan and anything stupid he may have done or said..That's clearly not the case..I mean to come out and talk so favorably about Isiah coming back to the Knicks as a potentially good thing?? Come on man..Please..It was almost as bad as when Hahn mentioned that he really believes Curry should be the starting center this year. I thought that was a headscratcher but this Isiah stuff took the cake.

To evaluate Zeke fairly, all I can say is that he ran this team into the ground: bad personnel decisions (his trades and FA signings were abysmal -- he was slightly better in the draft coming up with David Lee and Trevor Ariza late [Ariza's a guy we never even got full value for in the Francis trade btw as we see now that he blossomed much later for the Lakers & then the Rockets] but awful with other higher picks -- Frye, Balkman, Collins (to be fair, I kinda liked Collins a little myself and 2 other guys I liked with that pick, Justin Williams & Alexander Johnson, haven't really panned out in the NBA although AJ appears to be on the cusp now with the Rockets). Even Nate & Demetris Nichols -- these were basically two trade acquisitions, not outright draft picks though Zeke was in charge of making those selections -- Nate has talent but was always too small to be a real factor and is possibly the league's most immature player. Nichols was never an NBA player), he never found a coach that worked out (and then even he got nothing out of his collection of players when he was forced to take over the coaching duties), piss-poor cap management throughout his tenure (more like non-existent) and all the off-the-court issues equaled nothing but complete embarrassment...And Hahn's gonna sit there and go off for a good 5 mins about how Isiah deserves another crack here? Wow...Couldn't believe what I was hearing..Normally Hahn comes off as a pretty sharp guy and a good writer -- last night however was pure BS MSG propaganda. Nothing more..I guess I just expect more from Hahn by now..Walsh and D'Antoni are the leadership now, like 'em or not..Bringing back Isiah would only confuse things and undermine Donnie & Mike's authority..I can't believe Dolan fails to realize that. Astonishing decision by Dolan really - that he was even considering this. Thank Christ the league stepped in and put the kibosh on it..But listening to Kahn talk about it, you would think Isiah won a championship here or something..I'm all for giving people second chances, but considering the scope of Isiah's failure here, his second chance needs to come somewhere else.. Kelly was perhaps the most objective -- stating that with former Detroit Pistons owner Bill Davidson's passing not too long ago (Davidson was apparently always at odds with Thomas and never really welcomed him back to Detroit properly) maybe now IT catches on with the Pistons eventually...Hey that's fine -- just as long as they keep him the hell outta here.
The first segment was pretty cringe-inducing but the rest of the show was solid enough:
-- Good interview with Roger Mason..For the little bit of money we gave him, I like the signing. I think he can help us.
-- Good interview with Jim Boeheim -- they covered quite a few topics with him: the current Team USA roster, other assistant coaches like himself & Jay Triano that now have a little more responsibility on Team USA's coaching staff filling in for the ailing D'Antoni (back problems), Carmelo Anthony, etc.
-- Sizing up the Eastern Conference -- Wally saying the Knicks may be the E. Conference's most underrated team and the Bucks the most overrated..I can definitely see that. Kelly mentioned the Heat as the most overrated, something he's maintained right from the first Knicks Live show post 'decision.' Kelly's right man -- Lebron, Wade and co. talking 5, 6, 7 championships...Please..Win one first you arrogant fools..LOL.
-- A good Bosh vs. Amar'e segment, although I think collectively the panel was selling Bosh a little short, esp. Wally S. I mean what did this guy average last year, something like 25 & 12? Wally was making him sound like a soft, one-dimensional jumpshooting/perimeter big like Channing Frye or something..I'm fine with Amar'e and every factor that went into bringing him here (the panel was hinting at Bosh using the Knicks at one point when he probably never really intended on going anywhere other than Miami -- I can see that. F Bosh -- I don't think he ever gave serious consideration to coming here. Amar'e did however and right off the bat) but Bosh is definitely a great player, much better than anyone on that panel was making him out to be.
