You got it covered. But being awestruck and giving up no layups are two different things.

VMart - I would submit the fans were much more awestruck than the Knicks players

hence, shutting down the hero worship in the stands is key

Chandler is 23 and Gallo will be 21, they need fan support more than Lebron. Who did so-called Knicks fans cheer louder for?

17. If the Knicks get blown out in their own gym the way they have been for the past decade, fans should boo louder than ever.

Maybe you'll eventually realize we're not anywhere near as talented as the Miami Heat as well."

Hilarious

Jrzyhus - big deal. I predicted that Starks would head butt Reggie, Camby for Oakley was a smart move by Grunfeld, Clyde and Earl would share the rock, David Lee was a great draft selection, Bernard was not done, Michael Ray and Ray Williams would take turns throwing alley oop passes, Toney Douglas would do what Toney Douglas do, tampering with George McGinnis was a mistake and that Willis Reed would play game 7

... after watching summer league 2007 in person, I predicted The Mayor would be that good

I predict Mozgov will be picking and rolling by November to the tune of 15 points per game, Sugar Ray Felton will make us forget Chris whathisname, Eddy Curry will be dropped like second period French, there will never be another training camp scrap like the one between Xavier McDaniel and Mase and that somebody will get hurt before the season starts

one more thing

Fuck Miami

Well said!

I can deal with them getting blown out at home if they go down fighting. If its because of the same lack of effort we've seen in too many games over the last decade, then yes, let them hear it.

18. Fans who are not tough when the going gets rough don't deserve brand new Knicks players who fight through adversity. These panty waisted, chicken liver hearted, whiny crybaby fans should man up and admit they are closet fans of the Boston Celtics

19. Anyone can cheer when a team has a lead. Knowledgeable Knicks fans remember how to cheer after a forced NY timeout when the other team is up by 16 and on a run. REAL Knicks fans know that is how the first chants of DEE Fense (ever) got started in the blue seats in 1968.

How old are you, just out of curiosity? I see that a lot of your posts are referenced to the 60s and 70s.

Just ran into "The Most Homoerotic Sports Photos Ever Taken" on Huffingtonpost.
Really funny stuff there but had to post this photo and caption:

Chris Bosh's New Defensive Gameplan

If his defense remains consistent with this photo, we should be fine. LOL

The Answer Man Did Not Get To Be The Answer Man For Nothing

Q. Jrzyhustla - How old are you?

A. Old enough to have attended the last game in the old Garden (against the Philadelphia 76 ers) when I was in high school. Old enough to have watched Wilt Chamberlain and Guy Rogers (one of the best point guards ever) from the upper deck with my Dad. Old enough to remember that 50 cents and a GO Card (issued by all NY public schools) would get you in the cheap seats in the rafters.

Old enough to recognize a halfway, fair weather, bandwagon Knicks fan when I see one

I think the key is to run these guys down in SSOL. They have a very weak bench, so if we force Bron, Bosh, and Wade to play 40+ minutes at our pace, we can tire them out. Even the best players run out of gas.

We might be able to win a game or two during the regular season but we don't have that 'closer' to beat a team like this in a Playoff series. Which is why Carmelo Anthony is a MUST within the next year or we'll never be title contenders.

Also means that MDA has to expand his rotation, as some have said.

nykbasketball wrote:Everyone is saying that they have no depth and its only the big three and stuff along those lines. Well Wade and Bron are the 2 best players on the court, amare is the third, and bosh is the fourth best player. After those 4, its all knicks. Gallo, Chandler, Randolph, and Felton are better than anything the Heat can counter with (maybe the exception is mike miller). Randolph is going to abuse anybody the heat put at center because there is not a guy in the open market right now that can match up with him. He is way to athletic and versatile for Shaq/Big Z. I think Amare is going to abuse Bosh, but thats from a biased knick fans view. Felton will outplay their PG without a doubt. But how badly will Bron and Wade torch Gallo/Chandler/Walker? If we play good defense and force Bron and Bosh into jumpers we can beat the heat. But if we constantly let these guys into the lane its not even a contest. In order to beat the heat Amare has to absolutely dominate Bosh and go off for at least 30, Gallo has to knock down some threes and score around 20, Randolph has to score 15 and defend the rim, and felton has to be a magician at the point and make things happen by pushing the tempo, and we have to play GREAT defense.

Beating the heat is going to be a challenge and I think that's why Lebron said if you cant beat them join them. Im glad Amare looks forward to challenges because he needs to carry us on his shoulders and get us the 6 seed to avoid the heat in the first round... but ultimately the road to the finals goes through Miami

I've been thinking that the way to attack the problem is to put AR on LeBron. This creates a height disadvantage in our favor. LeBron' jumpshot is not money. With Randolph to shoot over, his game becomes sub par.

Mda plans on using AR like he did JJ

Obviously, the heat have the advantage with the superstars.

BUT

Team ball will win out over isolation basketball 9 times out of 10.

We can run and gun to get their starters tired and then use our depth to go on runs.
We have a very important advantage at the PG position.

Best example I can think of is the Olympics where the USA got 3rd place.
We had the best guys on the court every single game.
We had superstars filling out the roster that would kill anyone on the other team in 1 on 1 ball any day of the week.

But a bunch of inferior guys beat out our superstars playing TEAM ball.
The heat are beatable in the same way that the USA was beatable then.

They cannot play 3 on 5 and win. We freeze out their PG and C positions with solid D and SSOL and we can win the game.
I am not saying we can dominate this team. But they are beatable, perhaps even in a playoff series.

As of right now I would be more intimidated going up against the Lakers than the Heat.
Our team has allot to show, because as of right now we don't really know what we have.
Once the Knicks get about 20 games under their belt we will have a very good idea of what this team is capable of this season.
I am talking playoffs not the regular season. As currently constructed... this team is playoff bound.

WE succeed and make the Playoffs!!!!

We get Miami in the opening round!

Hype about Miami being all intense, interviews with miami players about the sausagefest and how "this is the moment" blah bla bhal!

Gotta hope we make it hard for them but be gracious if we don't upset them.

Its humbling, but its progress.

Best to upset them and enjoy the summer of '11!

Mozgov "eat the heat"!

MOZGOV vs the Heat!!!!!!

Chances we can beat the heat?
