I thought I heard the Hornets GM was fired precisely because he put Chris Paul on the market?

I think the Hornets will try to move Darren Collison + a big contract to try to get someone to compliment CP3.

The way I look at it, knee injury aside is this: We have a shot at signing Carmelo outright next off season, if he doesn't sign that extention. I would rather have:

Felton AND Carmelo AND all our other players and assets

Vs

Just Chris Paul, having given up Felton and a some pretty good assets (lets be honest if they traded him this soon they'd be expecting back a lot)

We'll probably get neither and I wouldn't cry over either of those scenario's, obviously, but just curious, what everyone else would prefer? Would you rather have CP for a price or Carmelo for essentially nothing?

I think Chris Paul can have a greater impact on the game than Carmelo, but I think you make a good point.

He's a playmaker - he needs dudes to pass to. If CP3 comes to an empty roster, it's not going to mean much.

I sort of see what you guys are trying to say in regards to NOT trading for Paul.

However, barring realistic injury concerns, he's a top talent and if you can get him...you get him.

Again, these might just be bogus rumors anyway....there's conflicting reports out there as usual.

He is (ws??) an amazing talent, and if he was not coming off an injury they would start off asking for Gallo, Anthony, Douglas, Chandler, and a future #1, I would think.

Sweet jebus. I would not give up Gallo + AR for him.

if we throw in a couple 2nd rounders & cap space it should do the trick.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

OMG we're going to lose a player who mostly just stands there and shoots threes and occasionally drives into 2 defenders and throws up a terrible layup. Plus another idiot who averaged what? 10 and 5? Seriously, there's a reason why we lost so many games. Everyone overvalues our own players. Gallo isn't some all star and Randolph may not even be starting material. Chandler has more potential than Gallo and Douglas is young and athletic. Walker is a freakish athlete. Should we not move anyone? This team must be amazing lol

I believe the Don agrees with you!!

Anyone but Gallo can be had...... Curry Chandler and Felton with some picks gets you CP3 I think

Curry gives em Cap relief big time next year ......... Felton helps take up blow of losing Paul and backs up Collison well
Chandler is a need for them!!

Picks give em beyond enough value!!

One thing about Paul. He publicly expressed interest in joining the Knicks. Other teams will be wary of giving up too much for a player who may bolt when his contract is up.

I dont mean to be an ass, I'm just saying Gallo will hopefully be a really good role player, a quality starter, but does anyone think he will be an all star? Anywhere near Paul? Take Hedo Turkoglu, he's somewhat comparable and he's nowhere near cp3. I dont think Gallo is going to develop into dirk. Even with Pual's injury, I would take the risk and make the trade. The potential is a lot higher there than with hoping on Gallo and AR.

In a year or two he might be having major problems with his knee. Also, I don't actually trust him- If you remember Bron, Wade and Bosh's plan to team up actually included CP joining them 2 years later. I don't see how it would be possible unless he took a ridiculous pay cut, and I know he made those comments at Carmelo's wedding, however it seems really fishy that he suddenly changed his management either just before or just after (Wow- last week seems so long ago, I can't remember!) those 3 did acvtually team up to Lebron's management company.

Besides, are we really going to spend the next year talking about getting Carmelo or CP or Deron Williams or who ever? After what happened this offseason I'm not going to bother torturing myself like that again, and am instead just going to focus on what we've got. Really in the next CBA the ban on tampering should be extended to include the fans discussing players on a contract with another team- it would save us a lot of time and heart ache!

CP3 is the one who is bothered the most out of everyone in NBA over what happened with the Decision (fag move by Bron)
Think him pushing issue now make make this Summer more interesting then its already been......

I started post saying the stars will align

The process has begone!!

OHHHHHH I also said Lebron will definitely be a NY Knick!!
