I don't believe LeBron ever even considered coming to New York, so it really didn't matter who they sent.

Should have sent Delonte West. He could shut Gloria James up before she told him to go to Miami.

Well, the argument that BlueSeats and Michael Kay are coming from that while it may not have mattered to LeBron who showed up, it matters to the Knicks who they choose to represent themselves. Donnie, , H20: OK. Isiah: not OK.

The mantra for the past two years is that the stars want to play for D'Antoni in his 'system'. I thought that was why he was given a free pass for the last two years on the bench.

Isiah was a last ditch effort. I doubt they expected it to work. By then it was probably beginning to dawn on them that LeBron never had any intention of even considering NY as a destination. I do suspect that Dolan is still enthralled with Isiah, and believes he has magical powers.

You mean by Walsh or UK posters? Regardless, I don't see any evidence that D'Antoni had any particular pull, so I guess you could say those who believed that mantra were wrong. But even if he was a draw, I don't think NY was on the radar for LeBron. Maybe if the Knicks had managed to have a winning season and make the playoffs... Even then, I don't think LeBron is a New York kinda guy.
