Does this free up the space they need to sign Miller? I know the cap was increased 2 mil.

four-team trade involving the Bobcats, Heat, Rockets and Raptors has reportedly been discussed.

Sources say Michael Beasley and Jared Jeffries would be sent to Charlotte, with Tyson Chandler going to Houston.

The move would create more cap space for LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.

One source indicates Toronto is uninterested in taking on approximately $3.1 million in salary from the Rockets.

The Raptors would like to acquire a trade exception.

State income tax is a drop in the bucket compared to federal. I don't think that should be a deciding factor.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

That is why I think this LeBron to Miami is a bunch of BS.

So why has he actively been trying to recruit him? Maybe they think they can convince Clev. that they will have to take a S&T.

Pat the Rat is a very smart guy. He doesn't need LeBron he got what he wanted with Wade and Bosh that is what they set out to do. Next order of business is to block the Knicks from getting LeBron so it becomes ridiculously easy for them to win championships and at the same time it just stops the Knicks from getting LeBron which basically keeps the Knicks depleted. Getting LeBron to Miami just kills all the birds with one stone.

..and that kind of deception is exactly why I'm not tripping over all that "Lebron to Miami" talk. Hopefully, the Knicks brass don't trip over it, either.

Good point, VMart.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Why would any of these teams do this except out of spite or sheer stupidity?! Is Beasley and Jared frickin Jeffries really worth creating a dynasty in your own divison for the Bobcats?! They may as well declare that they have absolutely no intention in trying to even bother contending for a title. And how does Tyson chandler help the Rockets? They have Yao Ming, and of course THE Jordan Hill, and to be honest Jeffries can fill in the back up centre role. But The Rockets do actually have championship desires so why would they help the Heat get Lebron? If Lebron goes to Miami then we have nothing other than the sheer stupidity and shortsightedness of those two teams to thank.

Lebron to Miami is a lock. It's done. Let it go.

This is BS. The heat can't get lbj and miller simple as that whatever sign and trades they do. 3x max = 49.5m. + chalmers ~850000. + 9 minimum capholds = ~ 7m. That equals 57.35m. All three maxes would have to give 2m from their salaries EACH to afford Mike Miller. And if you think they're all signing for 13m, you're dumber then Chris Broussard. If they did offer miller a deal it means lbjs not going there, simple as that.

Oh plus they have 2 2nd rounders with capholds too. I'm not being optimistic of anything just stating the practical impossibility of it, however much the Heat would like to corrupt the system.

first year of his deal is probably not $6M. there are probably raises involved. first year could be as low as $4M.

That's a very good point. I don't know about Florida but where I live (Alabama) state taxes are ridiculously low and sales tax is very high (10%).

Ha ha- remember that summer where Riley thought he'd executed a master plan and signed Tim Hardaway, and Juwan Howard and others, thought they were a championship team, only for the nba team to void the contract because he'd blundered on the incentives and had actually exceeded the cap? I'd love for something like that to happen again. Though I can't help but wonder what that Heat team would have been like- would Alonzo and Howard have worked well together?

The figures were, if I recall, that a max player saves 1.4M in taxes by signing in Florida. So they can take 1.4M less than max and still NET the "max" they'd get by signing in another state and paying taxes.

That being said... the big 3 taking 1.4 less, without dropping beasley, and signing miller, isnt happening.

Ah..MLE.

They can't even if they trade Beasley.

I get the feeling Born is going back to Cleveland.

But if James goes back to Cleveland, as a fan, don't you want to kick him in the ass for not declaring last year and then take steps to get better players?

I'm pretty sure they can't. So yeah either they aren't getting Miller or they aren't getting Lebron.
