There's a lot of interest in Lee and with all that is said about NY not having assets, why not bring him back if all else fails? If we ever have to do a sign and trade for Melo at some point, wouldn't it be nice to have a young all-star big man to use as a chip?
The lee as a trading chip argument is 3 years old
He basically couldn't be traded last season without permission and the year before that, was an RFA without a long-term contract.
Lee signed long-term makes him a better trading chip than he was in the past.
Yeah, but its truly about a willing trade partner, now is as good of time as any and if there are no takers this summer, then I just don't believe there will ever be.
We once said the same about nate. It's over for "lee would be great trade bait" it's time for "player X would be a great knick"
How many years can we keep signing people we can trade later? When does it become signing players for the team?
