Wow I can't believe someone would be soo bold as to make a thread such as this. Donnie Walsh is one of the most respected men in all of basketball and is the only reason the Knicks even have a shot at getting better. It's just plain disrespectful to say such thinks about such a man. Would u rather have zeke back? Or Kahn? No you wouldn't because they're not even on the same planet as Walsh. Your just pissed because the guy has enough common sense not to go about his job the same way you would. Oh and just think about how much credibility you could lose if lebron and another max free agent become Knicks by next week? I respect david lee and all the hard work he's done the last few years but he's not a max player so if Walsh wouldve signed him to a long contract last year and used precious cap space he would basically be saying that lee is better then wade, amare, and bosh and that my friend is clearly not the case. So in conclusion, find something better to do with your life then to trash the only good thing Knicks basketball has going for itself right now

Not even, Walsh has done a lot of great things in his career. He's put them team in a position to create a dynasty or be irrelevant.

Do you like the idea of losing an emergin allstar for nothing? Or the fact that teams are clearly cap space and giving up less then we did.

We weren't going to be a playoff team. So why not move lee and get something extra picks, young talent or clear jefferies. I'm sure everyone is out to get the knicks, but he put together a lot of selfish guys in contract years and that always backfires. If we didn't sign he cheap to use in a trade we didn't need him.

No one really knows anything about walker and douglas. We are selling a team that I like and fits as good as any for bosh and lebron. But if donnie and mike were on the same page why bench the kid? He played great early and then didn't make it back till the last handful of games.

If lee isn't included in the future work on a deal early. douglas is your starting one next to lebron, duhon has no place taking his minutes. Yelling at your scouts for missing on jennings, I think he moves a little early sometimes. We could be in a much stronger position.

YOU JUST ANSWERED EVERYONE'S POINT.

The Knicks have been irrelevant for a decade, and by your own admission Walsh has put them in position to create a dynasty.

Yes... there is a 100% chance that it could fail, we sign nobody, we get Lebron and he blows his knee out... bla bla bla

The point is he took a franchise with a decade of futility and put them in position to create a dynasty.

Sorry but thats pretty good

Ouch...this hurts

Here's what I hear from yesterday: LeBron interested in Nets pitch but not so much NY. NY trying at moment to secure Amare' to help cause

True, Windhorst is a good source though and has been close to LeBron for a long time. Kind of fits with what Alan Houston said about LeBron not giving much feedback during the meeting.

Hope like hell though that Windhorst is wrong. Either way, going for Amare is the right play for now.

I agree with you there. I have filtered out most of the reports (e.g. the Nets claiming their own meeting was tremendous).

Windhorst is a pretty legit source though and he has been reporting everything that is going on with these meetings. I really hope he's been told BS info, but I don't know, it could be legit and it ties into a lot of what's going on right now.

I don't get all this recent hype about the nets- what do they have to offer thats better than what we've got? They can't sign a 2nd max player to go with Lebron, and their roster has nothing except for a mediocre point guard who regressed last year, this years unproven rookie, and a good centre. Their team was even worse than ours last year! They have to play in New Jersey for at least 2 years before they can even move to Brooklyn. I'm not optimistic about our chances and I really fear we're about to strike out, but this hyping of the nets has been complete bull****!

I have ignored the majority of the stuff today especially twitter posts and rush articles.

About all I have paid attention to is the Bosh to Miami with Wade - and Amare to NY type bits. I think they're the only credible things out there at the moment.

Childs2Dudley - great photo work.

Walsh has his guys working all the angles while the press can only speculate or quote such journalistic icons as Yahoo Sports (Berman) or repeat second-hand rumors from (cough) "sources"

Sounds to me like these players are getting good advice from their reps (aka agents, etc.) They are playing the PR game pretty well and keeping everyone guessing. Is Stern pulling strings? I doubt it. Just the evolution of the sports biz.

Some of what you say has merit, but you keep neglecting the presumed basis for DW's decisions: Being in on the BIG FISH. That's not quite the "all in" we have mostly claimed it to be as Walsh certianly has flexibility to build a playoff team here. But when Lebron, Wade, Bosh and Amare are all going to be available and you clear the decks to try to sign two, you've done what you SHOULD do as a GM in a big market. Now if Lebron chumps out and stays in Ohio, Walsh can show what he's been doing besides getting us in the game. And I have a fair degree of trust in his capacity to provide us with a much better hoops experience than we have seen around here in a loooong time.

Please stop throwing out the bath with the bath water. It's just not necessary right now.

Funny, some bitch about knicks not being patient then we get some fans who want to fire Walsh or call him out on things that have yet to happen with substance.

"Walsh is looking like a Rookie GM?": Be cool, let it play out. It depends on your expectations. If walsh does not do Jordan Hill cap wipe we bitch" Walsh is not ready for biggest Free agent haul in history!".

Walsh made it happen and we have no idea what his other alternatives would have been other than was we read as outsiders.

At best we were never better than 25% chance of landing the biggest of fish anyway!

If expectations were we'd be on July 5th all signed and sealed with starphuck vegas odds roster catch of the century with starphuck kudos to hail Donnie "stiff necks" Walsh as Exec of the year making lebron and bulls his bitch with Bosh on a leash then y'all Santa Claus expectations are too high!

The thing is most fans want to wait to see what happens here and then if we don't get Lebron they'll immediately start bitching about Jordan effing Hill. People need to understand that in real life you can't have it both ways. You can keep Jordan hill or try to get a real superstar not have both.
