I think it's funny how people crack on Jay-Z's stock in their franchise. Wait til Live Nation starts bringing entertainment to the Brooklyn Arena it won't be so funny then.

Eevrybody found their niche yeah Jay may brag about it too much but he is self made. The Russian owner speaks for itself. The Nets have no other way but to go up just like we do. It will be good for the area if both teams can be rising simultaneously

People dont realize Jay-Z could buy a larger stake if he WANTED too.

Yeah they look at his low percent ownership meanwhile ignoring his total personal wealth which is around half a billion. I believe he and Beyonce made like $125mil last year alone. Like I said what is Dolan without his Daddy, other than an inheritor? The wealth isn't what's going to separate these franchises in this chase any knowledgeable fan knows this, it will come down to more important matters going forward.

by calling him an investor is not ignoring his personal worth. In my book, no matter how many millions you have, less than 10% makes you an investor, not an owner. I own stock and don't see myself as an owner of the company and, I seriously doubt they feel they feel that way either

and his personal wealth is bloated by fans, rumors and jay Z's own mouth... Forbes last year had a list of richest black americans, jay z came in at 17 with 150 mil.. it makes sense. Oprah is far ahead in first.. Former BET owner was a billionaire but now worth 550 mil. his wife or ex wife. LOL.. owns the other 500 mil.. haha.. then you have tiger at #2 behind oprah worth 600 mil, Jordan, bill cosby.. magic Johnson is worth 520 mil, then you have guys like Don king and berry gordy(motown owner) worth around 290 mil plus... I would have a hard time believing jay Z has anything close to these guys...

They finished off most of Jay Z and have him suited up. Russian Mark Cuban still just has his head showing along with part of his shoulder.

Thing already looks big in person. Scary part is it's not even done yet.

As a Knick fan since 1987, I have to disagree with you. This franchise has done nothing but distance the fans since 1999. The way they handled Ewing, Marv Albert, the attacks on the media, their control over what players say and do, the arrogance of Scott Layden and then onto Isiah Thomas. The complete and utter arrogance of Jimmy Dolan, and how MSG became a way for Daddy Dolan to give his failure of a son something to do. How defiant was James Dolan as fans chanted "Fire Isiah" night in and night out and he STILL did not fire him, just replaced him.

From the signing of Clarence Weatherspoon and trades for Howard Eisley and Shandon Anderson, through the horrible contract for Houston, to the giving away of Latrell because Dolan did not like his attitude, all the way into having a team with absolutly no chips to intice any free agents to come. This team is a failure. Sure we didn't get lucky in the drafts, sure we suffered from horrible Isiah trades and signings, but in the end this is a failure of management and has been for a decade. And continues to be a failure.

You guys can argue all you want about whether Jay-Z is an "owner" or "investor", but he is on a billboard looking down at MSG. And the soon to be Brooklyn Nets have a strong young team and a bright future ahead of them, and an owner who made his money and didn't get it because he was too much of a drunk for his rich daddy to give him anything else. And Jay-Z is far more attractive to someone like Lebron James then Alan Houston. Believe me.

If Lebron gets inticed by having his own channel on Cablevision, by all means that would be great. But us NY Knick fans have to fess up to the fact that the Nets have FAR better management, a better nucleus of young stars, and honestly, when they move to Brooklyn, they may have FAR more fans.

Nets are going hard... it's gangster and corny at the same time. It would be even better if this was up on Newsday.com!
