PLEASE TRUST me that this report is complete BULLSHIT.

Broussard is a total NY hating jackass.

Think about it... your telling me that Walsh has ALREADY gone to plan E? (this is not plan B)

There is NO WAY in hell the Knicks meet with anyone before Lebron, Wade and Bosh. Just not happening. Get real.

Chris Broussard has sources. You might not like what he writes but the guy had DIRECT quotes from Maverick Carter.

Chris Broussard Sources > Hahn, Berman, and Isola sources.

Lets be realistic here, unless we have a big offseason we're not going to be as good as Houston. We're not going to be able to be a garbage lotto team who wins 30 games and gets to keep our pick. Houston at the absolute worst is going to be a back-end of the lotto team. They were in playoff contention for most of the year this year in a ridiculously deep Western Conference without Yao.

Houston can win 50 games and miss the playoffs.
Knicks can win 40 games and make the playoffs.

That happens?

No swap.

Thats obvious. I think you missed the context of my point. The point was there was no benefit to us to sit on our cap money, not force it on a guy like Joe Johnson, preserve cap health going forward, tank and win 25 games next year, and be set up nicely for a high pick in 2011 to draft a potential difference maker. We won't reap the benefits of being awful because of that Houston trade. Just because you have a lot of cap money doesn't mean you have to spend nearly all of it in one offseason, but in our situation, we pretty much have to.

The media has been NY's worst enemy for years. They love to try and push our athletes until they snap and say something bad. They love to create controversy where there is none with false reports and then stick a mic in front of guys. They've done it with MDA this year and other coaches and players in the past.

If we don't get Lebron/Bosh, it would make sense to go after the next level of guys. JJ/Amare would out this team in the mix in the East. It's not the 10 year reign of glory you get with 25 yr old Lebron/Bosh, but you could get a good 3-5 year run out of those guys. Trust me that would seem like an eternity of good BB after what we've had here.

TD PG, JJ SG, Gallo SF, Amare PF, Jordan/Barron C ? You can do very well with that group and our shooters/Athletes off the bench. Chandler, Walker, Fields, Rautins off the bench is pretty good. We also don't know what we may end up doing in terms of Sign N Trades. What do we add from Curry's Contract? My point is that we can still build a team that can challenge in the East even if we have to settle for JJ/Amare. We'd have loads of passing, shooting and post play as well. We could run and play half court effectively. It's a well balanced team.

This doesn't mean that I'm conceding that we won't get Lebron.

he might have sources but this is just common sense. The Knicks did not totally trash 2 years to not even take a SWING at the big 3 FA.. i'll bet my house on it that this report is bull****. Seriously

Dude, this is the Knicks. When do they ever get anything right? I wouldn't bet a house on the Knicks.

Ah I see your point.

We cannot tank this year however for we'd be tanking for Houston.

Also you know Dolan will pressure us to sign at least 2 players (or sign 1, trade for another), even if they ARENT in the best interests of the team. Knicks need wins. Even if it's 42 wins and the 8th seed....you know this will be pushed for.

Am I the only one who doesn't see himself rushing to the Garden to get tix or buying a Joe Johnson jersey?

You can just take your Larry Johnson jersey out of mothballs, its essentially a free Joe Johnson jersey now. Im sure he'll keep his number 2
