I will still be shocked if LeBron James leaves his hometown Cleveland to sign with Chicago. For LeBron to sign with a hated rival that brought so much pain to his hometown team would be the ultimate diss and just wrong. I'm saying this right now, LeBron will NOT win a ring in Chicago. You're not going to beat Dwight Howard and Orlando or Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum in Los Angeles with Joakim Noah as your best big. And there is no chance in hell Chris Bosh or Amare Stoudemire sign in Chicago for $13M when Miami, New York and New Jersey can offer them the MAX. Maybe Chicago can get Carlos Boozer or David Lee for $13M but that still isn't enough to win a title.

LeBron James grew up a Chicago Bulls fan.

I actually wouldve shut up if they just went up and got Whiteside last night even if this FA turns sour like it seems to be going--why wouldnt they want a guy who has the potential to be a really good starting 5 when we haven't had one in 10 years?

Ill be honest--the Knicks --the way they have gone about their business dont deserve any gifts. It scks because Im not getting any younger --Im sure that is the same with many guys here. Why didnt we spend a few mm and 1mm in cap to secure Whiteside and Hobson? Christ we cant even get anyone to play for the SL team--and we think Lebron is coming back to this shell of a team???

RAUTINS BABY!!!

Can you explain why Hassan Whiteside slipped badly into the 2nd Round if he's this future Hall of Famer? Are you just that much smarter then NBA General Managers? I've been reading this board for years and I cannot remember the last time you were right about a prospect you hyped up. I don't mean to pick on you but this know-it-all guru is getting old. Anthony Randolph, BJ Mullens, Kyrylo Fesenko are just terrible and you made these players out to be future Hall of Famers.

Friendly bet - Andy Rautins and Landry Fields will be better pros than Whiteside.

Well, I have to be honest... I'm less confident about our chances than I was last week. I don't know, just seems to be a bad vibe in the air. Maybe it's just the media and the media simply doesn't want LeBron to be a Knick, but I don't know. Not so many positive "Knicks are getting LeBron" articles lately.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I know but it's still messed up.

Anyway, if he goes to Chicago, he will not maximize his career. He might win a ring or two late in his career (he's too talented not to) but in the end, his career will end as a disappointment.

Whatever LeBron wants to do we should respect his decision. If you think about things from his stand point this is a very difficult decision no matter where he goes. I want him to choose NY because its the team I root for but if he decides to stay home I can respect that and if he thinks he has a better chance to win elsewhere I can respect that too.

LeBron really hasn't said much and he shouldn't until he feels comfortable with his decision, its not cut and dry as we make it since we root for the Knicks our opinions are biased. I know when it is all said and done he will do what is right for him. I can't see how teams going to him will influence his decision when most team can offer the same as the other.

Without the whole selling him on NYC thing, how else can we convince him to come to New York?

We're going to him. Which is what that guy I talked to that one day who was hired by Cablevision to orchestrate this said we were going to do. The second we can we're cramming a plane full of every and any willing NY celeb/sports stars, past and present, and heading out to wherever he wants to do his meetings.

As to selling anyone on NYC. What's to sell? He's been here. He knows what it is all about. He doesn't need a tour.

That's the problem. You're riding the tide of the articles and flavors of the week. Absolutely nothing has changed since the Knicks cleared cap and LeBron put us on his list of possible destinations.

Don't read or believe the articles. Simple as that.

My confidence in our chances has been the same since day 1 regardless of the media flipping back and forth about where he will go.

If he doesnt come out for a recruiting visit, I dont think the Knicks have a chance to get him. The Knicks arent the best team for him to join. Chicago with Rose, Noah, Deng? and cap space and Miami with Wade and cap space are. And if he doesn't have the opportunity to be wowed by the bright lights and big city... the Knicks dont have it.

I just really hope we dont get Carlos Boozer.

This is all about building his own legacy in NYC or joins other man show in Chi or Miami.
What is LeBron about we will see soon.
To be honest if he is all about easy ways to get to the top I am not dying to get him.
But I still believe he can surprise me.

Do you realize he wont have legacy if he doesn't win anything? I have a feeling Bosh is heading to Miami. This will lead to Lebron heading to Chicago to counter.

Noah, Rose, and James VS Wade, Beasley, Bosh

The extra cash each team has will be used to fill out the holes in their respect roster.

I doubt Lebron wants to come to NY and get owned by Wade and Bosh in the playoffs.

If LeBron James comes here, either Chris Bosh or Amare Stoudemire will follow. And we are up to par with Chicago, who wouldn't have made the Playoffs with that "great" talent if Bosh didn't get hurt for Toronto, and Miami. The idea that a Knicks team with LeBron and Bosh isn't as good as the Bulls or Heat is just plain hate.

What's with the sudden Noah love? Since when did he become such a great piece that Lebron can't
resist goin there? Lebron+Bosh+Gallo >>>>>> Lebron+rose+Noah

I don't like the Bulls make up. Rose isn't a catch and shoot deep threat. Noah isn't a great post player teams fear. Who is gonna spread the floor? At least our team would make sense and be tough to defend. Teams would back off of the Bulls and deny penetration, daring them to shoot. That team isn't much different from the Cavs.
Thibs ain't gonna be able to draw up a solution for that.

Rose doesn't want LeBron to steal his shine. Rose is happiest with Joe Johnson and Amare or Bosh as his supporting cast. Rose is a first overall pick and see the Bulls as his team he may not say it but he doesn't want LeBronand his hype machine coming in to Chicago and taking his thunder away.

Of course, you are right. It's just a bad vibe. Odds are it's mostly baseless. We'll see. Ok, time to smile:

is it unfathomable to think they can acquire a shooter at some point within the next 6 years?

If Rose don't want lebron, you trade Rose.
If Lebron don't want Rose, he be gone.
