There will always be a part of me that will never quite 100% get over that team in that era not winning a title. But as sad as it was, if you are a Knick fan under the age of, say, 45, and I am, those were the "glory years" even without the ring. I don't know that i could ever quite love a team like I loved those teams ever again, because its different when you're a kid

I gotta say game 7 vs Miami in 97 was just as bad though cause we all knew the Knicks were a better team but got screwed by David Stern with all the suspensions at least the bulls were a great team but Miami? smh

meant so much that mray had to become a member to post his/her disgust! welcome aboard now go post in the alba thread so you are 'official'

I've been reading these boards for years but I had to join and post after almost vomiting in my mouth reliving the Charles Smith nightmare . 96-97 Knicks the only team I felt had a real chance to take down Jordan's bulls but we will never know......

No layups!

We led the series 2-0. Had a golden chance to take command in game 3, Jordan left the door open with one of his rare off efforts in a big game going 3 for 17 in game 3, but we could not capitalize. Of course, you couldn't hold MJ down for a whole series, and he would explode for 54 points in game 4, leading to game 5 at MSG. Thats when this happened

I still haven't quite gotten over that loss. All the missed free throws in that game. I would have loved at least the chance to play a game 7 at MSG

Hate on him all you want but 15missed free throws is WHAT cost the Knicks that game.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

didn't know it at the time but if you watch him, his knees were shot and only continued to get worse. the guy had zero lift on those attempts and it was unfortunate that he was asked to play out of position. he was a pf playing sf just like spree was a sg forced to play sf.

You know the lame Knick Charles Smith is cousin to this Guy Neil Winters (aka Kristoff St. John)
of Soap opera Young & the Restless (aka Old and the Lively )

I'd bet Kristoff St. John would of DUNKED that ball to win it !

This is hilarious... I was graduating high school around the time of that Charles Smith game, and I remember screaming on my sister who was a bandwagon Bulls fan with a crush on BJ Armstrong, because she was taunting me after that loss. I think that's when I knew I was a Knicks fan for life, because I was HEATED! I think I had to go outside to cool off. Haha...

That's all I have to say about it.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!
