6 Championships and 6 Finals MVP it's comical to even begin to compare Lebron to Jordan.
LeBron James is just 25. Michael Jordan didn't win his first ring until he was 27.
Lebron entered the leauge two years earlier than Jordan so the age excuse is kind of over now. But I don't care how old Lebron is anyone comparing these two either have amnesia or have no knowledge of NBA basketball prior to 1998.
How is it comical? Ur comparing Jordan's complete career to Lebron's incomplete career.
Ur being opportunistic in your attack of Lebron by marginalizing him at an obvious low spot in his career. Vmart put things in perspective. Jordan was completely vexed by the Pistons FOR YEARS at the same age that Lebron is at now. I'm sure there were people like you who were saying that it was comical to compare Jordan to greats like Oscar Robertson and Bill Russell during that period.
Talent wise, Lebron is at Jordan's level --- perhaps even superior in some categories. At this stage of their respective careers, they are definitely comparable. We'll see how it plays out, but dont play that generational hate game.
sebs on the right track. but, i wouldnt define it as a low spot of his career. its been two games, so that doesnt make up one's career. looking at jordan's stats during the 3 yrs the pistons ousted them and comparing to lebron's now. mike had him beat by 5 or 6 pts a game but lebron had mike in assists. so call it a wash per se.
the GLARING difference as some eluded to in this thread is the 'killer instinct' part of lebron's game right now. for some reason he doesnt know how to step on a teams throat when they are down. he cld've done it with the celts in games 4 and 5, but chose a more lax approach. that in my mind is the difference.
jordan had it, kobe has it, lebron prob will have it down the road - it starts when he stops being so defferential to his teammates and starts being more of a pr!ck if he's ever gonna reach jordan status. he's gotta get in shaq's face when shaq cant even run down the floor. he's gotta get in mo's face when mo is taking crappy shots, he's gotta get in jamison's face when he forgets that there is also a defensive aspect to the game. until then, he'll be that 'all smiles' guy that has great talent, but no hardward to show for it.
nice guys normally dont finish first.....
