yea... that was before they saw him in the NBA. Talent wise he was deserving of pick #2. To bad talent isnt enough in the NBA. You have to work. Derrick Coleman, Glen Robinson, Eddie Curry, Kwame Brown... the league is littered with high draft picks oozing with talent that never put the work in.What does Joe Johnson have to do with anything?
Finally Beasley isnt a scrub. He's a great talent who has shown little of the desire it takes to be a great NBA player. Your better off having a guy with less talent who is going to work hard every season and every game. Isiah just left. I've had enough of over talented under motivated players.
Derrick Coleman - Weight issues
Glen Robinson - 2 time allstar, selected to the Olympic team, spent 3 yrs in college and was ineligible to play his first year, forced Milwaukee to sign him to a multi year deal as a rookie.
Eddy Curry - Weight Issues
Kwame Brown - Physical Specimen with no basketball skill
Seeing as Beasley plays NOTHING like any of those guys I dont see your point.
Beasley: pot issues.
Why isnt Beasley a better player? We are talking about the best college player in the country. A guy who had Jamison meets Amare type talent. Whats the problem?
Do you look at this player and say to yourself he loves the game? That he's going to be an all star one day?
I dont. I see a guy that likes being an NBA player and will be happy to be a good scorer and collect a nice NBA paycheck and enjoy this lifestyle for the next 8 years.
No thanks.
You mentioned paying for guys like Lee and Chandler. To me thats worth paying for. Guys who are dedicated, hard workers and get better every year. Yes... thats where I want to spend my money if I am the owner.
How does Beasley address any of our needs from last year?
