Chalmers, Cook, Richardson, O'neal, Haslem? Miami is shopping their greatest trade asset. This tells me they are desperate to get Wade help.

What does Walsh trading our lottery pick and future picks to move 7 million in 2011 mean? I think it says we are desperate to get cap space for FA's this summer. I dont think it means Jordan Hill is garbage.

Once again- he was the #2 pick in a good draft, and he was in the discussion to be the #1 pick in the draft. He cannot be considered in the same sentence as Hill.

You are perfectly correct- Miami is desperate to get another piece to play with Wade. Beasley was supposed to be riding shotgun for Wade. He was drafted as a PF who would take some of the load off of Wade. He was supposed to be that second piece.

His draft position is relative to others in his class. Beasley is being shopped to acquire talent like Chris Bosh. He isnt being shopped for scrubs.

As I said Beasley is not a PF. He has the same measurements as Carmelo Anthony and you can check DraftExpress.com if you dont believe me. Only difference is they guy is STRONG. Beasley has the prototypical SF frame and is a finesse player. Miami realizes this hence why Beasley is being shopped for a PF.

When Durant came into the league the coach made him play SG because he was their best shooter. Now while that sounds like a good idea it was a massive failure because Durant is not a SG. It would be just as foolish to play Beasley at PF because he is their strongest SF.

Kevin Durant played SG and SF at UT Austin. He looked like more of a SG at UT as well. PJ thought the same thing and shifted him there. In fact, the comparison most frequently rendered in 2007 was George Gervin by those that weren't Durant haters. As someone that argued Durant should've been taken before Oden, I think SG is his natural position and should be where he plays. He's an amazing shooting talent shoots over any and everyone.

the guy's upside is Glen Robinson.

This is an Isiah player all the way. Great skills and looks good on all those 'proposed' line ups guys will put out there. This guy is not a winning player in the NBA. We finally have a group of guys that work hard and play hard to build around. Gallo, Douglas, Chandler and (I hope) Lee all are improving, play hurt and show dedication that translate into them being better NBA players. I would not put Beasley into that group.

The Heat picked a talented player but if they could redo they would rather have Mayo, Westbrook, Love, Gallo or Lopez and let someone else deal with the Beasley headache.

- You say his best case scenario is Glen Robinson while DraftExpress says "Amare Stoudemire Meets Antawn Jamison". Of course Jamison hasnt won a dam thing either so I guess he is a loser too.

- If the Heat could redo the draft they probably would have drafted the same exact way. Mayo and WestBrook wouldn't have meshed with ball dominant Wade in the back court. Love has been injury prone. Lopez is a solid center but I dont think he develops with Wade trying to win games.

- Boston traded Joe Johnson during his rookie year. I guess Johnson was a scrub.

- Lee is set to get paid this summer. Chandler is set to get paid next summer. I have seen zero that makes me want to pony up cash for these guys unless we get a superstar. Beasley is on a rookie deal for 2 more years.

yea... that was before they saw him in the NBA. Talent wise he was deserving of pick #2. To bad talent isnt enough in the NBA. You have to work. Derrick Coleman, Glen Robinson, Eddie Curry, Kwame Brown... the league is littered with high draft picks oozing with talent that never put the work in.

What does Joe Johnson have to do with anything?

Finally Beasley isnt a scrub. He's a great talent who has shown little of the desire it takes to be a great NBA player. Your better off having a guy with less talent who is going to work hard every season and every game. Isiah just left. I've had enough of over talented under motivated players.

Derrick Coleman - Weight issues

Glen Robinson - 2 time allstar, selected to the Olympic team, spent 3 yrs in college and was ineligible to play his first year, forced Milwaukee to sign him to a multi year deal as a rookie.

Eddy Curry - Weight Issues

Kwame Brown - Physical Specimen with no basketball skill

Seeing as Beasley plays NOTHING like any of those guys I dont see your point.

Miami isnt going to give away Beasley, Chris Sheridan was embellishing. They want value back whether that be a future pick or multiple players on dirt cheap deals.

I see Beasley being moved in a S&T but maybe if we offered Chandler and a few 2nd rounders maybe they'd be desperate enough.

Why would they want Chandler when they're trying to shed salary?

They dont I was just trying to be optimistic. They want a PF and I dont see Riley trading Beasley for David Lee.

I also was assuming they might have a deal in place for a player that they cant work out a S&T for but need to move some salary to sign him. Chandler makes about 3 million less than Beasley next year so it would give them some breathing room.

Beasley: pot issues.

Why isnt Beasley a better player? We are talking about the best college player in the country. A guy who had Jamison meets Amare type talent. Whats the problem?

Do you look at this player and say to yourself he loves the game? That he's going to be an all star one day?

I dont. I see a guy that likes being an NBA player and will be happy to be a good scorer and collect a nice NBA paycheck and enjoy this lifestyle for the next 8 years.

No thanks.

You mentioned paying for guys like Lee and Chandler. To me thats worth paying for. Guys who are dedicated, hard workers and get better every year. Yes... thats where I want to spend my money if I am the owner.

How does Beasley address any of our needs from last year?

For Miami, the entire purpose of trading Beas is to clear enough for a 2nd MAX slot so taking back anything but a draft pick is not happening. We can give them one of our #2 picks this year and a conditional 1 in 2014. I wouldn't offer more than that.

The entire purpose of trading purpose isnt just about a 2nd max slot. It is about moving an asset for a need. Wade's window is now not 2-3 years from now. Regardless of what some think Beasley is a coveted talent. I dont expect Riley to accept garbage for Beasley. You think David Kahn would pass on trading Al Jefferson(PF) for Michael Beasley?

Here is a hypothetical situation. Lets say Bosh gets traded to LA and Amare resigns. Now do you think Riley would prefer to overpay Boozer(29 yrs old) or try to trade for Al Jefferson(25 yrs old). Beasley is a trade asset that can be packaged with a pick depending on who they receive in return.

you don't trade Blaze, I men Beas for Chandler. Chandler shows a desire to improve, works hard and is just plain solid. Beas seemed disinterested on offense and alzheimistic on defense. I'm sure he means to defend but quickly forgets where he is or what he was doing :)
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

moving Beasley right now is selling WAAAY low.

I would say most in the NBA dont believe in him and he isnt a coveted talent. He's the same player he was last year. He just looks like a guy who has monster talent but just isnt driven. If your an NBA exec what are you giving up to trade for a guy who hasnt really improved his 2nd year, doesnt look driven and has drug issues?

Yes he's 21 and yes he's got star talent but I would say the belief leve in him right now is pretty low

Wade is 29 yrs old. Miami cannot afford to wait 2 yrs until Beasley develops. Mortgaging a teams future for the present isn't a new concept in the NBA.

As I have said before they aren't going to give him away. They will move him if they can obtain a piece that can help them win a championship now.

In his 2nd season he did not improve in any area of his game, and don't give me the age excuse. he spen his last off season in a rehab( substance abuse) center, and it shows.

wilson chandler spent last of season rehabing an injury along with Gallo, and both showed vst improvemnt during the course of the season.

What would give you any indication that bease will me much better then he is now..His age...yeah they said that about darko. What you see is what you get..a soild role player, no one's gonna give up anything more then some prospects and late picks.

Gallo played around 20 games last year. So I dont see where you are talking about this vast improvement. Please tell me how Chandler improved from last year. Stats look the same to me. He also is frequently injured. Chandler skill wise needs to work alot harder to get to where Beasley is currently.

Beasley is far from Darko status man.

This was a speculation piece by Chris Sheridan based on RUMORS. Chris Sheridan is not Pat Riley and neither am I.
