The Lakers had this in the bag from the second quarter. It wasn't a blowout, but OK never got closer than 6 points. And every time they did the Lakers stretched it back out to eleven.

Lakers in 5.

I dont know about your discription. Look at the Bucks and Bulls. They got their doors blown off and only crawled back into the game when the other teams started to relax and sit on their big leads.

Oklahoma was in the game the whole time and that was in the face of sub-par performances from everybody except Westbrook. Lakers should still win, but this doesnt look like a 8 vs. 1 seed so far.

Looks like 8 v 1 to me.

The Lakers were never once in trouble. They'll take it in 5.

cant stand that pansie kg - guy throwing an elbow at Q as he ONCE AGAIN runs from a fight/altercation. the guy is the definition of a schoolyard bully - he needs to get his teeth knocked in next time he comes down the lane thinking he's all bad ass. glad the league suspended him for game 2. hopefully that helps the heat - never was a fan of the heat, but i do hope they beat the celts in this series. that would be awesome.

Rather encouraging if you're a Thunder fan...Forget the Durants & the Westbrooks for a sec -- we know those guys are great -- I'm really impressed with this kid Serge Ibaka. Man, this kid is big & athletic and he plays hard. They have a very good young team there. I think the Thunder regroup in a big way and find a way to get game two. If that happens, this series goes the distance with Oklahoma City having a good shot to win it and advance...

This post is on point. Yeah, the Thunder were definitely playing scared out there. Harden in particular was crazy off balance. They have a good shot at messing with the Lakers something serious if they get their minds right. The talent is there, for sure.

Dangerous squad.

Absolutely. If I'm Scott Brooks, I think about giving Ibaka some more time over Nick Collison in game 2. Collison looked overmatched against LA's bigs, Ibaka didn't.

sam presti knows how to find these guys like ibaka - he was doing the same thing with the spurs. the guy is a solid 6'10, 240lbs and is a beast around the rim and defensively. 24th pick? if this guy played college ball he woulda be a top10 pick.

every year there's a new "up and coming" team.

a few years ago, the bulls were the darlings...then the hornets...then the blazers...and now the thunder.

the first 3 have not been able to get to elite level. so before everyone jumps on okc's bandwagon, see how it plays out in a few years.

The Thunder will certainly make this a series. They couldn't throw the ball in the ocean yesterday and still stayed in striking distance because their defense can keep them in games. People who don't follow the league ultra closely have no clue how good they are defensively and they showed it yesterday even despite giving up all that size. They rarely get blown out, they are always in games, They will fight and claw and keep these games close, and Durant will have a couple of big games before this series is over

I also see no way the Laker guards are going to find a way to keep Westbrook in front of them

I don't even care what happens in game 2 either. Don't judge this series until they switch venues. That OKC arena is going to be a crazy scene once the series switches over there

The Thunder can't win this series because its a little early in their development, but they will make it interesting. I also have to wonder how healthy Kobe is because hes been shooting it like crap in his last 4-5 games, also missing a lot of free throws. Maybe that finger is bugging him. Missed a bunch yesterday, and missed 2 in the final seconds against Portland last week that were huge. I don't think Kobe is Kobe right now

Gotta take them all on an individual basis.

The Bulls were pretty much just overrated around here. A way for posters to rub it in Isiah's face that he got merked by the Bulls.

The hornets were legit. They almost made it to the finals. They feel apart because of Paul's knees and their cheap ass owner.

Blazers were kinda like the Bulls. Overrated around here.

The Thunder are legit. Westbrook is a future all-star and durant is already a top-5 player and they are both in their early 20s. But I think the 09 draft will haunt them. Harden's ceiling is pretty low. Imagine if they would have drafted T. Evans or Curry? Damn.

I know I am in the minority here, but I really like QRich. He sounded like XMan going after Pierce and Garnett.

I know Paul's been hurt all year, but Derom Williams is without a doubt the best pg in the league right now. He put on a show last night in the win over the Nugs.

Deron Williams has always been the leagues best PG for awhile now. Chris Paul is nice but he is undersized.

I dunno about this --- I know sports is all about the current moment, but lets not have too short of a memory.

CP3 took an average team to the western conference finals. He's hurt now, and Daron has grabbed the crown, but CP3 is a monster. We'll see what happens next year.
