Here are the highlights from the other night.

Couple of things. If he ever becomes a starter in this league and gets a lot of interviews, college kids has found a new drinking game. How many times did Barron say ..."you know".

In that highlight clip, almost all of his points were from an assist from Sergio. He was running and cutting to the basket. If we can have our guys follow this formula of actually running with Sergio, I think we can have a pretty good 1-2 punch in the PG department with TD and Sergio.

Playing against The Ticket, Kendrick Perkins, Glen Davis, etc..will be a nice measuring stick for this dude tonight. I hope he gets the playing time - he deserves it after his surprisingly decent run against the Clippers..

In all seriousness, Baron reminds me a lot of Nazr Mohammed.

he doesn't have Nazr's post up game (at least he didn't show it in his 1st game)... he has the same hitch in his jumpshot tho... probably better at running the floor than Nazr was

I'm going to hold my opinion on him. I recall when Bender played in his first game and the reaction was similar. Playing your first game with a new team can go two ways. I wait until a game against the Celtics and Orlando to judge what he can do. He has a nice touch on his jumpshot though.

The amazing thing is the Knicks had the 8th pick in the draft and I believe he got off the bench to get 19 minutes once in his tenure here. Barron comes in and almost gets that in his first game.

MDA likes to throw the good vets right into the fire... Bender being a classic example.

From the highlights looks like he is another guy who can score of the pick and roll. Appears to to be an adequate rebounded.

If guys like Malik Alen are still int he league, he should be too I guess.

A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

As long as he is not property of another team already then YES.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

As I stated to the board earlier this kid has potential and I really think all he needs is a shot. He's not the end all of anything but he's active and more than what we have at the center spot.

Anyway on to lighter fare. Now let me tell you a funny story. Earl Baron's family is originally from Mississippi and his father was my 9th grade PE teacher and drivers ed instructor (also got my Drivers license with his pop in the back seat). Now his dad was also the girls basketball coach (he passed away some years ago). Well my father was an avid fisherman and also the head basketball coach at the sister college (the high school was on the campus). Well one day he and my father are fishing at a place called Moon Lake. They're fishing and my father is at the back of the boat and Coach Barron is at the front of the boat. My father was the only one getting any bites. He told us that every time he'd catch a fish and take the fish off the hook and put it in the cooler by the time he turned to cast his line again Coach Barron would have his line where my father had caught the fish. Eventually Coach Barron requested to get at the back of the boat because of this so my father said okay. Well pretty soon my father is catching all the fish off the front of the boat. So they start moving down the bank and they come across this tree that has fallen over into the water (fish often gather around submerged branches). As they pass under one of these branches they notice a thick long cotton mouth moccasin (very poisonous snake) sunning on the the overhead branch. My father stayed calm as the front of the boat passed slowly under the snake. Coach Barron panicked and jumped into the water. He's hollering and screaming and saying I can't swim I can't swim. My father laughed and told him "Earl, why don't you just stand up". Dude stands up and the water barely comes to his knees...oh, and his dad was 6'8". Hilarious and I remember it like it happened yesterday (30 years ago almost).

That's all I got. Later.

Do you mean Walsh catch some big (7') fish in the D-league? We'll see...
