The bottom line is at least with Isiah we will have good players. Whether they're expensive or not. Layden was going in a completely opposite direction by overplaying for role players. We would've never developed young talent under Layden because of the overpaid scrubs.
Nice post, Guns. Keep 'em loaded...
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year.

Silverfuel - I'm all for the Marbury trade - but those playoff stats are pretty bad - he's down in shooting %, pts and assists and his teams lost.
You are right, his numbers did go down. They are still good stats. Not the stats of a Top 3 PG in the league but IMO they are good. And his teams did lose but to teams much much better than his team. He hasn't had much of a chance till now.

Marbury can't turn into a chuckker who makes his teammates stand sround and watch him. If he makes his teammates better and gets off himself then I would be satisfied. This squad as is must play (TEAM basketball).

Marbury can't play with these guys this trade will give phoenix the best pick they ever had before. Zeke, maybe Bird was right.

If we make it! Marbury can't lead his daughter to the pottie.

Why the constant Marbury bashing? He averages 21 points and 9 assist and is one of the top 10 players inthe league, why are you constantly hating on him? He's carried this team several times to victory. Somebody pisses in your cheerios everyday playa. It's sad, funny, and kind of strange.

You know, the trade for Marbury/Penny will look REALLY BAD if we do not manage to make up the playoffs.
The best part of the trade was that we got an all-star PG who happens to be the best PG in the NBA statistically. Getting rid of Ward/Eisley was important too.
The worst part of the trade is that in addition to giving up some high upside prospects (Vujanic / Lampe), we also gave up those 2 first rounders. The trade also impeded the development of Frank Williams, who just prior to the trade had led the Knicks to a winning streak during his short reign as starting PG.
So what happens if we don't make the playoffs? Our only hope for improvement is the MLE... and bargain league-minimum surprises.

Techno, i'm entitled to my opinion just like everyone, now because I saw the writing on the wall don't get mad at me. I never wavered after that trade and never felt good about it period. I just want the knicks to do something worth while besides do what the franchise has done for the last 10 yrs. TRYING TO RE-TOOL ON THE FLY WITH BIG NAMES AND NO SURE WAY OF WINNING WITH PATIENCE AND YOUTH.

As long as Phoenix doesn't wind up with a top five pick, I would make the trade again today. I am not sold on Lampe's ability, and Vujanic was never coming here. FW could still have developed if Wilkens had a brain.
