just watched it... i think i'm off Lazar Hayward's bandwagon now... dude didn't really step up in crunchtime & take charge the way a go to guy should... he's got nice range on his J out to past the NBA 3 pt line but he's not very active on the floor... he was mostly floating around on the 3 pt line & waiting for kickouts instead of demanding the ball on post ups & iso's like he should have been doing when his team needed him most.
Wake Forest vs. Texas should be interesting... Al Farouq Aminu vs. Damion James
Quincy Pondexter from Washington -- man how good a senior year has that kid had? He's come a long way during his 4 years there..Finished with 18 & 11 rebounds tonight including the game winner..If the Knicks wind up looking for a straight up 2-guard in this draft for whatever reason (for depth purposes, to play with Chandler or in place of Chandler, Giddens doesn't pan out, we can't get LeBron & elect not to overpay for Joe Johnson, etc..), I like him a lot for us. I have my doubts on whether he'll still be on the board though. If they like him, they might have to move up a little to get him..
After a slow start, Kansas woke up and took a double digit lead on Lehigh. Lehigh closed the lead at the half, now the Jayhawks are back up by 10. Guard C.J. McCollum is the highest scoring freshman in the country at almost 19 a game..
Finest, what do u think about Sherron Collins? maybe an option to target to compete with TD this summer... i think he's got the character & maturity that will appeal to MDA also... u think he might slip to us in the 2nd round? personally i still think Nic Wise is the way to go & i'm sure he'll be available to us where we pick this summer, but Collins seems to be the more lauded player on the national scale.
I love the guy bro. You hit the nail on the head - character & maturity. Outside of him being just shy of 6' (which ain't even that small - we're not talking Nate Robinson height here. Plus his strength & speed more than make up for it) what's not to like??? Somebody tell me.. Quick, can push it, can penetrate & finish, great shooter, more than capable scorer when he needs to be, quality FT shooter, very good passer, unselfish, underrated defender (was all up in Lehigh guards' faces early on when the game was still in the balance, diving on the floor for loose balls... That helped immediately turn the game around), just focused on winning--not stats--esp. this year (128 wins for his career at that program and still counting...amazing)...Kansas is my team in this Tournament -- an experienced winning PG, big productive center in Cole Aldrich (at least at the college level), quality distance shooters in X. Henry & Morningstar, the Morris Brothers are big boys that compete hard (Marcus had 26 & 10 last night), and even more depth with guys like Tyshawn Taylor, Tyrel Reed, rookie Thomas Robinson...Collins is the cog that makes it all work. Fantastic player..The Knicks are nuts if they have zero interest in him. I would love to get Collins and team him up with Toney Douglas. Consider the PG problem solved if we landed this kid. With all his accolades, I can't believe he's not regarded as a better prospect. These draft sites might have him pegged wrong, esp. if he wins it all again this year. I can't see him going in the 2nd round to be honest but if he does, no way he slips to us past 35 or so. If the Knicks like him, they better be trying to work out ways to move up into the 1st round right now. I feel you on Wise - he can play, although he had a rough year - but Collins is better.
